why is there a hole in the carpet?

I'm pretty sure all of us have played on the bedwars map 'town' but did you ever realize the hole in the carpet? Is it there for a reason?

what infuriates is me that the hole could have been in the center!!

That's the spawn area, it's there so that you don't get stuck in the carpet once you spawn.

Its there due to a bug caused when players spawn in carpets. It can lead to players being falsely kicked for flying
