OpFactions - PikaNetwork 2020​

Greetings PikaCrafters,

Within this post, we would like to talk about the OpFactions gamemode on pika network.

OpFactions one of the most popular gamemodes, on pika network, next to bedwars. Due to corona, everyone sitting at home, so a majority of pika players waiting for an OPFactions reset, have we decided to this gamemode first. We understand that there are more gamemode on pika network that needs a reset, we are aware. Everything will be reset/updated this year.

For anyone that isn't inside our discord server or hasn't read the announcement about survival, We are aware of the current lag issues; a lot of backend changes are happening right now to optimize the server further and solve the present issues. This takes time we change things and need to test it with a player base online to see what effect it has. Certain features may be disabled like mob ai or other things, this, however, us testing to get a better and stable server. Features will slowly come back as time goes on.

Now back to what this post is all about, your suggestions for the next op factions reset!

We are and already were working hard on a brand new reset for opfactions. Within this post, we would like to talk about your suggestions for the next reset.
We read through all your suggestions that have been placed on the suggestions page on the forums. We want to say we have already chosen a couple of ideas that for sure will be added!

We would however still like to allow the community to let us know what you would like to see within a reset, if any features need to be added, if there is anything we should remove with a reset or you could help us by listing all the bugs that need to be fixed.

If you're interested in helping with suggestions for changes and additions, can you use this thread to discuss anything with other people in our community that you think would be beneficial. But please be descriptive when giving feedback, saying the server is broken isn't helping us in any way. Notice that pika network will not become a 3/4 week server, so features that are specially for those types of servers will also not be added.

So we are now taking all player feedback and suggestions for opfactions so that we can develop something that the community would like to see.

We noticed a lot of suggestions about staff for gamemodes like opfactions. So, as the new opfactions reset approach, we are going to be looking for more staff members for opfactions. If you think you have what it takes to be a staff member, are active in-game, and will write an application with an effort put into it, then please apply at the link below.
To start off will I ask some questions.

  • New faction commands (What commands would you suggest?)
  • KOTH improvements
  • New tools
    • Mobhoppers
    • Harvesthoes
    • Shockwaveshovels
    • Tntwands.
    • Do you have any other suggestions?
  • Fix all bugs
  • Increase power & member limits.
  • Update all plugins in general.
  • ???

Please take this opportunity to let us know by replying to this message what changes you would like to see going forwards!
You can also let us know what you think of the current ideas we have and why we should add them or not.

You should add an infinite chest log that allows in game players to check who recently sold contents within an infinite chest and/or when the last sale was and how much money that person made from that sale. 😃 Also love this!

Add /f inspect so you can see who stole your stuff.
Upgradeable grinding swords.
Couple of pvp/build/raid events troughout the map.
Psuedo genbuckets (fixes walls from top to bottom after) handy after someone tried raiding you, makes patching your base easier.
dirt horizontal genbuckets (makes it easier to make your sugarcanefarm)
Make it cost a lot of money to mine down spawners, or make it so they can't mine them whilst they're getting raided.
Disable fly for everyone in other peoples territory so it's more challenging to raid. (if added, add throwable creeper eggs)
Increase the ./f tnt storage to unlimited so you don't have to worry about having to fill it over and over again whilst raiding other factions.
Add a reward system for grinding mcmmo.
Make the ./f shield last longer and make it visable for all other factions to see when your shield goes on and off.
Make it so water doesn't get rid of redstone anymore.
Add a /fps mode to improve performances.

You should add infinite/void chests into the normal crates (unique and godly) with a small drop chance because they are not in the store and the only way we couldve got em were those seasonal crates.That made em impossible to get for the people who cant afford to spend money in game.And i guess nobody wouldnt like to get em in f2p way.

That already exist , there are 10 in-game ranks you can buy with in-game money :)

1.Changing Genbucket plugin would be awesome (So we can buy only 1 genbucket and get charged per use . it makes you have way cleaner inventory while making a base , cannon box..)
2.Making Genbuckets stop at y255(When you are making a base from the ground you have to mine all the obsidian that got genned on y256 cause you can't watered the top of the base & walls)
3.Fix crates - You can't get Ruskcap from the crates , also making unique&godly armor so high rate is really not cool
4.Expand the TNTBank more , it doesn't hurt anybody
5.Mining spawners should be charged a lot of money cause when you cannon and you are almost in the base people just mine down the spawners and lose nothing.
6.Pay more attention about people sharing value among factions (Last season Lunatic's co-leader "zSniqe" made an alt faction "GHOSTEMANE" with his value from Lunatic and they were getting both ftop1 and ftop2 rewards , same happened at the end of the season where Lunatic gave more then 1.5 T to "Myth0logy" and that way took both ftop1 and ftop2 rewards)
7.Maybe the most important - PLEASE! Remove the villagers from shop. Putting villager spawners in shop really broke the economy this season all people did was afk their villager farms and sell loot later , last season was way better when Looting 25 and grinding actually had a purpose , just remove the villager spawners from shop and put back the old sell price of emeralds blocks (it was like 18m per inventory , now its 13m)
8.Clear lag shouldn't get rid of TNT(It happened to me multiple times that when my faction was raiding "clearlag" happened and cause of it the cannon blew

On another server, there's a thing called the sell shop, its just a section in the shop where you can dump all the stuff into that section and it shows you how much you will make once you sell it, it's more convenient and better than clicking the item u want to sell and then clicking sell all. On top of that, I don't think ranks should be so easy to win from crates, many people just enter the game, somehow get a unique key and then first try they get God Rank, that isn't fair to the people who are actually spending money to get their ranks. Just decrease the win chance.

The chance is already insanely low. Many times I’ve gone opening 30+ unique and godly keys with only winning armor and money

Please mind adding EOTW signs on Factions Spawn :)
( Signs which allows you to get basically OP kit armour and gkit armour w/ weapons )
This way we can say bbie to factions and have a good season ending (As in we're gonna have fun pvping)

Also maybe try to add some Energy sort of implementation to Factions.
Like you're gonna have Factions Energy which can be increased as you complete several missions (Harder and more unique than existing missions right now - If any)

We can also add perks to the Energy.
For example;
Let's say initial energy of a created Faction is 5 but the total energy goes upto a 100.
At energy level 5 your spawners are going to work for 0.3x of the current spawner speed.
As you proceed to get levels, the spawners placed in your claim are going to work faster so hence when you have 100 energy level, you're going to have the best spawn rate ever.
Now we can implement some more addons to the Energy system like as you claim, your energy starts depleting or something similar like more deaths = Less energy.

Concept might not sound fit for the server but it's definitely an idea we can reuse to make something better out of it.

In my opinion this is a bad suggestion ... The economy is already broken because you can buy villagers from the shop... Adding that would break the economy even more.
