To Mojang, It has come to our attention that you seek to disrupt the freedom of the people playing within the game title "Minecraft". With your new enforcement of the EULA, it is clear that you seek to stop the owners of all servers from giving extra benefits to users who have donated to the server. Doing so will ultimately shut down the servers that the people of your community have worked so hard to maintain. You state a valid claim that all users should have equal abilities to a game they have already payed for, however, some of these abilities they did not pay for directly through the purchase of the game itself. With the website bukkit.org constantly growing, the variety of new features added to minecraft also grow. We see that you have allowed some of these features to continue being donator benefits. Features such as nicknames and prefixes. However, these features will most likely not be enough to encourage a user to donate. If there is not enough reason to donate then players won't donate. If players stop donating the server's will not be able to keep themselves alive and they will ultimately be shut down permanently. With the loss of the main source of attraction to minecraft (servers), your game itself will die as well. There are already more than 15 million people who have bought Minecraft. Approximately 1 million of these users are likely to have donated to at least one of the servers they have been on.If EULA is enforced then all 1 million of these donators will have lost a great amount of perks that they have already payed for. It would be like taking the stone, dirt, grass, wood, leaves, and precious metals away from the game and leaving the users to sit, wondering whether to quit. When lel d d o s allegedly shut down your minecraft sessions with a Distributed Denial of Service attack he showed the people what would happen if this EULA came to be enforced. This is also what made us notice the freedoms you are trying to compromise with this new EULA, It is the freedom of the people to spend their money on what they want just as they spent it on the purchase of your game. It is also the freedom of the people to develop plugins that will make the server more interesting and fun for all users. By attempting to stop donations you are also stopping donations to developers such as those of Opti Fine, who's mod you recently tried to implement into minecraft itself. Developers such as these will no longer be able to use their talent to better your game if you enforce this EULA. To better your perspective on the minecraft servers we must first remind you that bukkitt servers are not the only type available to users. There is also what is known as a vanilla minecraft server consisting of only default minecraft functions. These servers are also able to take donations but the donator gets no benefit. If a user is unhappy with donations on a server there is always another place to go that they will enjoy. However, with the enforcement of the EULA, those users who enjoy servers they have special perks on will not have a place to enjoy. You will be taking away their whole game from them. This is a warning to Mojang, if you enforce this End User Licence Agreement, it would be as if the Multiplayer servers that much of your users enjoy would be leaves. And there would be no wood in this minecraft world to provide the necessary support to keep the leaves from slowly decaying. Once these leaves have decayed the oxygen would then deplete and soon the world of minecraft will be gone as well.
