OP Factions Ghast farms

How do I make a afk ghast farm if the ghasts dont take damage from lava or cactus? I saw on another thread that "rails can be used", but how are rails going to damage the ghast exactly?

any design tips and help would be much appreciated.

The current type of ghast farms I am aware of is having dispensers timely releasing water to drown the ghast.

No they do not. I have tried that. water can indeed drown them though

All this is taking place in OP Skyblock. that is what the question originated for. I have NO idea why it is on a op faction forum, That is not what it was meant for

ghast farm are hard to make farms usually taking a lot of money and don't drop heads or xp tho
