I lost all my rare materials from my private chest, but why?

Hey guys, Playing in survival

I am trying to understand how I lost all my rare ores and rare loots

It was in a chest and I placed a sign on it, it then said private.

But when I logged in a couple of hours later I noticed I lost all my stuff.

My question is, how do people have access without my consent?

Just to confirm, you lost items from a placed private chest (not your enderchest of /pv), right?
In which case I'd want to ask when this happened, like when did you see those items last?

it's probably because u don't have claim area yet around ur private chest
so random people can easily use hopper under ur [Private] chest

Next time, put an empty [private] double chest on the bottom and put ur most valuable items on top of it (another [private] double chest above ur fake private chest)
so when ur chest wasn't in a claimed area, they can't loot ur items

and make sure that ur chest is already private ( it has ur nickname on it when u press done while u type [Private] on the sign)

from what I know it auto claims and area around your chests, and even if that gets unclaimed hoppers don't work unless it's your chest

This is a bug not alot of people had, unfortunately i was one of them, the chests got cleared due to the bug, they have not been touched by other people.

That was a bug man. Some peeps lost their items due to a bug.
