The thing I don't understand is I got like 300 ping and I click around 14 to 18 cps butterfly. My hits don't register as much as I would prefer. I use Silent client. I would understand if this was a ping issue, but I've seen people with Titan, Elite and VIP rank without this problem. I am pretty sure they have the same ping as me. I never get the first hit. I am aware about hit cooldown in 1.8.9. They also have better reach than me. Can someone please help with my understandings or misunderstandings.

Oh I will give it a try for sure thanks
Bro, it's not the server problem.
Maybe your clients
and there is no combat advantage for ranked players
And bro, I also play on 300 ms, and it's true that we don't get that first hit advantage. T_T
And please use below 15 CPS, please, to avoid bans even if you click manually

Even if you're clicking 14 to 18 CPS, you'll generally get far fewer actual damage registrations because repeated attacks aren't automatically converted 1:1 into damage.
  • 6-8 CPS: perfectly usable, easier to control
  • 8–12 CPS: ⭐ sweet spot for most players
  • 12–15 CPS: can help with certain techniques, but diminishing returns
  • 15–20+ CPS: usually little practical benefit for normal sword fighting; more chance of inconsistent registration/detection

What's your recommendation? I have a other questions too. Since you also play on high ping. What should we do when we face off players who combos us. My hits aren't registering while their every hit registers. Any counters? I know it's not CPS related but I wanted to know.

I'd honestly recommend adapting your playstyle rather than trying to fix it with CPS.

When someone gets a combo on you, don't keep running straight at them and spam clicking. Your hits can feel delayed because of the latency, so by the time the server receives your attack, they've already moved out of the position you aimed at.

A few things that helped me:
  • Strafe unpredictably rather than holding W + straight-line movement. Make it harder for them to maintain their aim.
  • If you're getting comboed, reset the fight if possible. Block-hit, move sideways/back, or create a little distance instead of continuously trying to hit through the combo. What I do is take off the crosshair from them
  • Don't chase someone who's already comboing you. Sometimes backing off for a moment and re-engaging is better than feeding them more hits.
  • Aim slightly more carefully and focus on where they're going to be, not just where they are on your screen.
  • Around 8–12 CPS is already enough for normal sword PvP. At 300 ms, increasing CPS won't magically make the server register every click.

Basically, with 300 ping you can't completely remove the disadvantage, but you can play around with it. Positioning and avoiding prolonged trades is probably the biggest thing I'd focus on.

Also learn some basic 1.8.9 movement tricks like W-tapping, S-tapping and strafing. W-tapping is basically letting go of W for a split second after you hit someone, then pressing it again. It helps reset your sprint so you can get better knockback and keep combos going. With high ping, timing these properly can help a lot more than just increasing CPS.

Hit Registration

300 ping can significantly affect hit registration due to latency and delayed server responses. Higher CPS doesn't guarantee more registered hits, and reach differences can be caused by positioning and timing.

Try checking your connection stability and aim. If the issue persists, consider reporting it with video evidence for further investigation.

Alright thanks for the help guys

1.7 hit delay fix + 16-20 cps with 1.1.1.1 cloudfare saves lives

1.7 hit delay fix + 16-20 cps with 1.1.1.1 cloudfare saves lives
It needs Forge. Few clients allow it. I can't use Silent client. Which is the only good cracked client for bedwars and stuff.

Bro, that setup is great if you have good ping, but for 300 ms players like us, it can actually make things worse. Here's why:

  • High CPS + High Ping = Bad Registration: When you click 16-20 CPS on a 300ms delay, the server receives those clicks in delayed bursts. The anti-cheat usually flags that as irregular and cancels the hits entirely.
  • Client Limits: As the OP said, they can't use Forge. For players on 300 ms relying on optimised clients (like Silent) for FPS, switching to vanilla Forge just for the 1.7 hit delay fix can make the game feel super stuttery.
  • DNS won't fix distance: Cloudflare (1.1.1.1) is good for routing stability, but it won't drop a physical 300 ms connection down to a competitive ping.
For us high-ping players, sticking to 8-12 CPS and focusing purely on movement (like W-tapping) is the only real way to win fights!

glide client + freesm launcher
it's 1.8 but has the hitdelayfix mod built in
I dont think it counts as an unfair advantage because pika does allow 1.7 players and that has the hitdelayfix built in to the version

1) 16-20 to get the first hit, then burst click. I personally can hitselect with 150 ish ping pretty consistently, if you're into that. IMO pika doesnt punish high ping as much as mmc or other prac servers with hit selecting.
2) Glide + Freesm
3) It's better than nothing

Bro, there is a massive difference between 150 ping and 300 ping. At 150ms, hit-selecting and bursting 16-20 CPS actually works because the delay is still manageable. But at 300ms, your knockback is so severely delayed that intentional hit-selecting becomes a complete gamble—the server just doesn't update your spacing fast enough.

As for Glide + Freesm, it's cool that it has the 1.7 fix built-in, but the core issue for 300ms players isn't just the client's internal hit delay. It's how the server groups your packets. If you click 20 CPS on 300ms, the server receives those clicks all at once after a massive delay and just cancels half of them anyway due to burst clicking.

It might be 'better than nothing' if it feels smoother for you, but I still stand by my point: for us 300ms players, perfecting movement (W-tapping, strafing) does way more than trying to force high CPS mechanics.

where do you live again?
a) not really, if you've watched top-tier high ping players play, you'd know that there's still very much a real possibility to implement hs; albeit you get the timing perfect
b) well why not use it? it adds something with no real drawbacks
c) perfecting movement is the BASELINE, everything i said just adds onto it

obv if you're going around hit selecting/jump resetting without having already perfected your movement, 😭 there's not a lot to say.

Kerala, India. 300 ping is just standard here.

a) Top-tier players can do it, sure. But expecting someone asking for basic help to perfectly micro-time hit-selects on a 300ms delay is wild.

b) Zer_HarithZ literally said he relies on Silent Client and can't use Forge. Forcing a client swap for a fix that just gets half-eaten by 300ms packet grouping ain't it.

c) Exactly, movement is the baseline. Zer_HarithZ asked if 14-18 CPS was ruining his hit reg. I'm just telling him to drop the CPS obsession and focus on spacing first, cause burst clicking on 300 ping is a scam anyway.

not really, your internet's bad. for a server based in europe you'd get MAX 180 in kerala
a) its not exclusive to top tier players, i just put out an example
b) it's still a net-positive
c) false, you're attributing his bad hit reg to cps when that wasnt even mentioned.

also stop sending ai slop responses please its annoying
