In order to use the /hat command, you need to keep a placeable item in your hand and use /hat . After that, the item will be placed in your head as a helmet (It will not offer any defensive stats).
About nick command, in order to use it, you have to write /nick <nickname> with a nickname of your choice. Then, your name in chat will appear like that:
~Nickname .
