Suggestion:
Changes to appeals

Detailed description:
A system needs to be put into place that lets people who have genuinely learned from their mistakes be able to play on the server again.

I think if you do something that amounts to a perm ban and you create a detailed and sincere appeal that shows that you've learned from your mistakes, I think your ban should be shortened to a length that will still deter cheaters and stop people from cheating/getting perm banned and faking a sincere appeal, such as 90+ days.

Same thing with permanent mutes, if it's clear that you have learned from your mistake, then I think you deserve to have your permanent mute changed to a 90+ day mute so you have an actual chance at being able to chat on the server.

Of course if you come back after your 90+ day ban and you repeat the offence that you have just done, perm ban no appeal.

The specific amount of days does not be be 90, it just needs to be enough so that it will actually be a deterrent to rule breakers but not so much that people will just move on from the server entirely, such as a year+.

Reason(s):
Now that buying unbans from the store is no longer possible, I think some changes to appeals need to be made.

The ranks on this server are very expensive by anyone's standard: 200+ euros for top ranks on many of the gamemodes.

If someone who has the top rank on a gamemode such as Opfactions, where the top rank is 400 euros, if they get banned for something such as encouraging breaking the rules, they have no chance of an unban due to our current appeal system and it's now 400+ euros down the drain.

Many of the people playing pika are kids/teens and everyone knows how easy it is for people, especially kids to make dumb mistakes.

Having this rule will allow and even encourage people to learn from their mistakes.

Example(s):
I spent 500 euros buying top rank, keys, and gkits. I have now made a (Genuine) mistake and learned from it, but I can't buy an unban and I can't appeal because our current system will just have it be denied. (Not me just a possible and likely scenario) (Not all punishments have to have the shortened ban option - I think cheating NEEDS the shortened ban option and Chargebacking should never)

The way to be clear is to throughly look through player's history like discord/forums etc and see if the person seems to have learned from their mistake. Likewise, just reading the appeal and judging the sincerity. Finally, like I said, if staff DO decide to give the person a second chance, they would still get banned for 90D days so it doesn't matter
Yeah but if they lied in an appeal and made a sincere appeal next it should be denied

In the amout of months it would take to span that, I think people can learn from their mistakes.
I'm not talking about different bans, like if a player is perma banned and 2 days later the player appeals and lies in that appeal and it gets denied, and the player makes another sincere appeal 5 days later, it should be denied because the player lied in the first appeal so that means he can lie again in this sincere appeal too

Hmmm, maybe there should be a cooldown between appeals, or the current system which makes it so you can't appeal twice for one punishment

I wanted to make the same suggestion after they made the announcement about removing unbans&unmutes from the store. I am not sure how this would work because there will be a lot of players calling the staff bias because they unbanned one player, but not the other. Maybe it would be better to change the rules and change Perma IP Bans to 12 or 6 months bans, but only for some offences. Of course that is for Owners&Managers to decide since we are not allowed to make suggestions about changing the rules.

it's not change to rules it's change to appelas xd so it has less chance of getting denied

People already complain about nonexistent staff bias, nothing you can do about that really

I am talking about the thing I said about changing rules so people get 12 to 6 months bans instead of Perma IP bans, thing you are talking about is not against the rules.

Like before, I will say +1 again when this was last suggested. I suppose now it actually does have a point in having this.

I agree with the suggestion overall, but I think we would need a lot more detailed concept on how appeals are going to work from now on and when we do or do not give second chances. On top of that, I do not think players who get permanently banned for the following things should ever be unbanned:
  • Falsifying evidence
  • Encouraging suicide/death threats and wishes (2nd offense)
  • Negative use of disabilities/diseases (3rd offense)
  • Unclarified/forbidden links (2nd offense)
These offenses are too hard for me to let anyone who does them play again.

I would also say that Chargebacking, Advertising, Cyber/DDoS threats and wishes, Duping offences are too hard as well.

+1 and i totally agree to ChargeBacking as some people can buy ranks then chargeback and wait the time and free ranks

I can agree with part of this but i dont want my suggestion to be too specific; it's just the general idea that people can be forgiven and learn and that perm bans shouldn't be the end. if it does get accepted i can leave it to you to work out the details lol
