Changelog
The most important features/modifications implemented towards this season's map and functions are the following.


🏛️ New! Spawn

A season means a brand new spawn, this time we have decided to go with a Underwater theme for the spawn and warzone.
Next to having a new spawn, we have given the spawn layout a total makeover, everything should now be easier to understand for old and new players.
🌊 A Spawn and Warzone with an Underwater theme.
💰 Capture the outpost for some extra rewards.

🥊 New! 1.8 PvP

We’ve heard your feedback and decided to take Skyblock back to its roots!

For this season, we’re bringing back the classic 1.8 PvP experience that so many of you loved.
Keep in mind that just is just to experiment, if it turns out that this wasn't the way to go we can always go back to modern PvP, but in order to attract more old school players to newer versions we feel like this season is a great opportunity.
🪞 A close mimic of 1.8 PvP
While the server will continue running on 1.18+, the PvP mechanics have been adjusted to mimic an almost perfect version of 1.8 combat.
Here’s what’s changed:
🗡️ Sword Blocking - Right-clicking with a sword will mimic the classic 1.8 sword block, bringing up a shield animation.
🛡️ Weaker Shields - Shields are no longer as effective and behave like 1.8 blocking.
💥 Classic Knockback - Knockback has been reverted to match the 1.8 knockback mechanics.
🎣 Fishing Rod Damage - Fishing rods now deal damage to players, just like in 1.8.
🪓 Axe Damage - Axes no longer deal extra damage; they follow the 1.8 damage values.
🛡️ Netherite Armor Adjustment - Netherite armor no longer reduces knockback, matching the 1.8 feel.
🏹 Bow Boosting - Bow Boosting is now as it was during 1.8 PvP and should feel smoother again.

🗺️ New! Warzone
We’ve listened to your feedback, and we know the same PvP arena and spawn was starting to feel a bit stale.
That’s why, just like the spawn, we’re introducing a brand-new warzone!
This new area is designed to bring fresh excitement to PvP battles, featuring a dynamic layout and more interesting terrain.
You’ll also find a KOTH and an Outpost in the new warzone, giving you even more reasons to fight for dominance!

🏝️ Updated! Islands

The Island System has received a complete overhaul to make it easier and faster to use!
When you open the /island menu, everything is now organized into simple tabs.
You can quickly navigate through all important options, settings, and information about your island without any confusion.



🆙 Updated! Island Upgrades

To make island progression more accessible, we’ve reduced the level requirements for various island upgrades!
Here’s what’s changed:
🪜 If an upgrade required every 5 levels, it now requires every 2 levels.
📈 If an upgrade required every 10 levels, it now requires every 5 levels.
🚀 If an upgrade required every 20 levels, it now requires every 10 levels.
This change makes it faster and more rewarding to enhance your island, allowing you to progress more efficiently.



🏪 Updated! Auction House

The Auction House just got a major upgrade — you can now sell your most valuable items for Pika Gold!
No more dealing with gift card trades or risky deals. With this new system, you can safely and directly sell items to other players using the official Pika Gold currency.
To list an item for gold, simply use the command:
💬 /ah sell <price> gold
It’s secure, simple, and the best way to trade high-value items on the server!


⚙️ Fixed! Bugs
We’ve put in a lot of work to polish and fix as many bugs as possible on the SkyBlock server.
We carefully reviewed all reported issues and successfully fixed them.
If you find any bugs with the new release, please report them in the bug reports section on our forums.
❓Did you know about bug report rewards?
You can earn Gold by reporting bugs! We appreciate everyone who takes the time to report issues, so we’re giving back to you.
Each season, when all reported bugs are fixed, you’ll receive Gold in your virtual wallet, which you can redeem on our Discord with /wallet.
📑 Misc. Updates & Changes
Multiple small changes have been made, some of these small changes are the following:
  • Added a new seasonal crate.
  • Updated the Anti Cheat.
  • The optional resourcepack has been removed for now, it might return in the future.
  • The health for the warzone boss has been reduced by a lot.
  • Informational broadcasts have been removed
    • Each player will now get a tutorial when joining for the first time.
  • The goldshop has received a visual overhaul.
  • Minigames have been removed from SkyBlock.
    • They might return in the future when we have more ideas for it.
  • The issue with not being able to send chat messages sometimes has been fixed.
  • Mob Heads have made their return.
    • These will be needed to unlock a spawner after buying 50 of them.
  • Drops in the warzone have made their return.
  • ...and much more.

That's what I told to theimo, he simply replied You guys wanted this, decide your mind. When I asked who is the "you guys" I didn't get a response. Each season they are ruining SkyBlock.

He claims that SkyBlock was dead when PvP was 1.16 ofcourse a gamemode will die if it lacks something to do. All the other gamemodes are only alive because of payouts. Remove payouts non will play opfac , opsb or SkyMines.

Just bring back the first season of classic SkyBlock when everyone just started non knew what to do. Everyone was here to have fun. The community was enjoyable and fun unlike the current community.

Also there SkyBlock wasn't dead till you forced it to die. You can't blame the people for not playing a gamemode which has no use.

No one asked for heads to be removed and the ability of trading/selling heads to be removed.
No one asked for the economy to go into the trillions.
Why remove things that didn’t need to be removed?
Granted, there was problems with heads now and then, but they could have been fixed so easily.
Skyblock was fine as it was in the 2022/23 season and before.
Skyblock needs to be classic again, a nice fun, chilled out game mode.
And I can assure you 99% of long time players will agree.
I’ve been on pika network since 2014, and only mained Classic skyblock.
What if we put up a poll to ask the players what they really want? As all the devs are doing is assuming these changes makes the game better, when in reality, it’s making it worse and less fun.

Usually we do not reply in a public section of a reset, but I feel like this is needed to for once and all end the discussion about how SkyBlock is 'no longer classic skyblock', and the reasoning about certain choices we have made.
TL;DR (too-long didn't read):
SkyBlock changes are made for longevity and sustainability, not just based on nostalgia. Many requested features have already returned.
Player preferences vary, so updates aim to balance content and keep the game engaging.


💫 Returning content.
Heads are already back this season, so are drops in the new warzone. These heads are again used to re-unlock a spawner after purchasing it
Drops will contain small durability sellwands, so I don't see what's wrong with this new season, we don't assume, we verify what we do in a reset. A reset post is merely a small summary of big things to expect, small things are not always mentioned as the forum posts would be too big and nobody would even read them.

😥 ..but SkyBlock was WAY BETTER back in the day.
SkyBlock was never fine in the early days, it was full of bugs and balance issues, we have no patched those and resolved it, economy with higher numbers is better for longevityof a gamemode, which is what we are going for with SkyBlock. The '99% of players will agree' is a statement made out of thin air, the playercount was higher as Minecraft was more popular (which was due to a worldwide lockdown, and people stuck around), with that popularity declining, so is the amount of players.

😡It's no longer CLASSIC SKYBLOCK!!!
SkyBlock was never 'Classic' SkyBlock, because the classic skyblock experience is with a cobblestone generator and no server shop, so asking to go back to 'Classic' SkyBlock is also a question that does not make sense. Just because the amount of money you can obtain is higher than what it was back in the day doesn't make it a different gamemode, this happens with every gamemode, and every game, even outside of Minecraft, the longer you have something, the more features you need to add to make it interesting, the more a gamemode is inflated, we can't simply make everything less, it needs to be balanced around the content, that is called 'power creeping' if you want to learn more about it, here's an article about it: [CLICK]. We can only go back to original numbers if we cut down on features, which would make the gamemode way more stale than the standard players expect to have in a gamemode nowadays.

📊 Just make a poll and do what players want!
And then to answer you last question, 'why don't we do what the players want', if only it was that simple, you and your friends are different type of players than lets say Larry and Barry who do not actively use chat, or forums, or Discord, and solely play SkyBlock without saying a word. There is no 'what players want', because each player has a different playstyle, we do what is best to keep a gamemode sustainable for us and for the players.

So yes, I disagree with the statements you have made regarding the SkyBlock gamemode, we are already returning a bunch of features we have missed with the 1.20.4 update we did (2 seasons ago). And they have now returned, the newest season, 2 seasons ago, was one of the bests ones we have had for (C)SB in years, and this is all purely based on statistics.

this is a ruined reset its good not gonna lie but u ruined pvp people now will spam only and its gonna be not fun some people use auto clicker or cps mods that can make then win any fight easily just bring back modern pvp because 1.8 pvp will make all classic skyblock player i was playing today 7 quitted because of this 1.8 pvp change and aswell as me i quitted this because 1.8 pvp will ruin skyblock the people who grinded for tiers and practiced in modern pvp will all quit because they dont wanna ruin there years practicing and 1.8 pvp is very easy u just spam ur mouse and thats it so pls bring back modern pvp

I did try it out I played it 2 years and I joined Skyblock because I quitted it as my hands were only spamming even in modern pvp so I quitted it plus all skyblockers can master it in 15 mins it easy to master

Switching to 1.8.9 pvp is dumb I played the first ssn after it switched to 1.16 some of the best gaming experiences It had daily battles between teams, grinding skyblock for just to get gear to pvp. Huge islands with wierd Redstone machines making pots and like public rng machine in which you drop heads for random stuff (my island was never first in spawners but felt lively and fun with lot of member)
Ofc most of the people i met there are now inactive so it could never be the same but I'm sure switching to 1.16 is what bought the plr count from 5-10 to 35+ players (trust me 90% of the players were there to fight ppl) . There were battles between the og 1.8 guys with tons of gear and newer skilled but broke 1.16 mains ofc something like that can never happen in the current situation. Still 1.16 pvp is vital part of the gamemode just bring back a huge pvp arena remove bosses or make them not attack the players having a serious battle. Also please add back the anti cheat and don't forget escaping 5v1 requires skill and is just not as simple deciding to run out of pvp. Every ssn since then you removed the features that made csb csb.

I rarely active in forums but I just want to say something since the very thing that make it a csb is no longer a csb like others mentioned.

As someone who used to play in pika csb where back in 2014 era, there's no such thing as opsb mode. Just sb. Having a huge time gap of not playing in between giving me a huge feels in changes.

But yeah. I agree. It wasn't feel like a proper skyblock mode anymore. And also why it has the most least active player on it.

What I really wish is that the island top level is actually based on how huge someone island is and from what material it is build from. More expensive blocks gives higher xp per block when placed. Instead of using spawner as top rank.

And also just remove the ability to buy food from shop. Just put sell options on it so that farm actually means something. Nowdays now one bother building a farm because how easy it is to fill hunger and farm also is worthless to build. Which making skyblock has one less purpose to enjoy.

Old skyblock server I used to enjoy has economy build around farms and grinder without spawner. Mobs actually spawn in island so you had to keep everything illuminated or you'll be attacked.

Dying from falling into void is real. That what makes the skyblock it is. Avoid falling into void while trying to survive.


Ranks isn't easily obtainable. Only real donators can have them and they really worth to have because of the /fly command. Nowdays those ranks seems kinda useless to have unless you have high tier rank. Back then even lowest tier rank already powerful. But now ? Skyvip isn't worth having. Ssnl skyvip is almost trash due how easily to get ssnl ones instead of perm.

And oh. About economy based on farms ? It makes people actually build something in their island just to get rich. You could see every island has at least basic farm because of the mats that required only obtainable through manual farm instead of shops and also used to complete a challenge for rewards. As a bonus you also get foods from it. But now all you can see just massive chest tower and massive stacked spawner just to generate money. Skyblock can ve played just less than a week and then you have no other more goals to do because you already completed it. Max personal lvl already reached. Warden spawner is obtainable through someone that sells them and started to make their own money generator with it. Then all it took just building massive chest tower that leads to extreme fps drop. Well. That what you had to sacrifice for money. And after that ? It just skyrocket afterwards since all you had to do just have a wand and click the chest to sell.

And oh. About the money. It started to become worthless after a while you have so much money. Everybody had the same amount. Getting money become so easy that it started to feel useless having them. Sure you can use it to buy building blocks and again. It is useless as building your island gives no rewards or whatsoever. So people just have a basic platform and build bunch of chest tower and spawner grinder instead. No netherwarts farm. No wheat farms. No cacti farm where you can sell for money. They're worthless and wasting time to build.

So in the ends all that money just accumulating for nothing but buying donator daily kits from anyone that has those and even those ssnl rank kit. All of that for pvp anyway. And oh. Cobble gen is literally useless which was the main core component of why it is skyblock in the first place.

And about the cobble gen. You can sell the ores that generated through it to the shop since they sells for a very good prices. And you can't buy them in shop. Only their block form except for coals. They're cheap.

Even better that because old days use sign shop. You can found some inside pvp area and only people that willing to risk it can sell inside for higher price instead of using normal /sell or spawn sign shop.
