    Yeah concrete is bricks I believe. But I mean you never know what hacky solution had to be made in order for it to work like this. Mojang never intended all versions to be able to log into a server. Also could have just been because his version was corrupted. Either way the issue is resolved.

    It could potentially have been caused by a newer block or item being loaded in the world, which your version of MC didn't know how to handle. That is somewhat unlikely, but allowing multiple versions to log into a server that is running a static version seems like it'd be kinda a bodged together...
