Suggestions for Economic Balances​

Detailed description:
I am a new player, I've been playing for almost a week. I am currently playing Survival. Unfortunately, times are tough and I apologize for not being able to buy ranks and such, but I am having fun and everyone has been nice so far which is very rare on a large server. I like that the chest shops have meters that show how much of an item there is available. However, without ranks, it seems very difficult to make money.

I'm suggesting a few ideas for a more balanced experience, please feel free to accept or reject any or all of these. I wasn't sure if I had to make a separate post for each one of these suggestions so I apologize in advance if I do something wrong in this post.

  • String added in the mod drop category in shops
  • Dirt should be added to the block category in shops
  • Sheep and Cow (and perhaps others) spawn eggs should be obtainable somehow
  • Incentivize people for adding a sell price to their shop

Reason(s):
  • String added in the mod drop category in shops - Bows are hard to come by and if we don't have string, we can't make bows. I have yet to find a spider anywhere and currently, unless I'm missing it, none of the mob grinders in /pwarp have spiders. Only 1 shop currently sells bows and if they are sold out, it's going to be a long night if you're getting picked off by a sharpshooting skeleton.
  • Dirt should be added to the block category in shops - If you are terraforming an area of your claim, you're going to have a lot of dirt. You should be able to sell that because getting the terrain of your claim to look how you want takes time and people might get frustrated if they have chests full of worthless dirt that someday they might need but they need other things first and can't afford them because they can't sell what they have. Not having the block in the shop would limit 1x1 dirt towers but there are people who legitimately need to sell dirt because of terraforming. Also, because excavating is a MCMMO thing which is active so we should be able to sell that, otherwise, there's no incentive to excavate.
  • Sheep and Cow (and perhaps others) spawn eggs should be obtainable somehow - To get to Level 2 you need to kill 8 cows and 8 sheep. I have found 1 cow and 2 sheep and if new players are trying to get to Level 2, there aren't a lot of animals to go around. It may discourage other players from putting in the work to level, especially if your claim is in a biome where you don't usually find cows and sheep. I'm all for something being challenging, but if you happen to /rtp and land near someone else's claim, they are not going to be happy if someone tries to kill their animals for the sake of leveling. Alternatively, you could change the requirements for getting to Level 2.
  • Incentivize people for adding a sell price to their shop - There are more than a few shops that you can buy things from that you cannot sell things to. If you're going to have things in /shop there needs to be the option to sell things to that shop as well. It's extremely difficult to have things no one needs/wants even on the auction house. For example, there is a massive shop that you can buy food from but not sell it. The only things I ever see on /ah are armor and hard to get items, you can only sell 1 item on /ah at a time (maybe this is not the case if you have a paid rank, I'm not sure) so it would be impossible to sell large amounts of anything common, like food, that you have. Many people, including myself enjoy farming and fishing, I find it relaxing.

Example(s):
  • In terms of incentivizing people to buy things from other players, you could give them something for buying x amount of items from another player.
  • Sheep, cow and other spawn eggs could be obtainable for a high price or put in the /vote crate to reward them for voting. More vote = More Exposure = More new players = More FUN!
  • Dirt could be could be worth (sell price) only $1 - So no one would be massively rich over night from dirt alone, or limit dirt buying to only so many a day.

First of all i met u just now but I'm sure we will hear from u at the future - you gonna be a great add to the Survival Community.
about your suggestions:

    ---I think u got the /shop thing wrong, its not like some other SMP that u buy "from the sever" with /shop you buy only from players so if someone sells it then it will be on shop, so they can't "add" some item to the /shops

  • Sheep and Cow (and perhaps others) spawn eggs should be obtainable somehow
    --- wdym? like to capture them? you can capture all the mobs in safarinets (looks like snowball)

  • Incentivize people for adding a sell price to their shop
    --- nice idea but idk how they can do it, if they will force players to add "sell" - they will just sell for 1$
    still those are smart ideas and i think all u need is - time, to know this SMP, then u can try and suggest again - I'm sure it will be great!
