OpFactions - PikaNetwork 2022

As the season has come to an end it is time to continue the cycle with another OpFactions reset. It is time for another season for top factions to compete against each other.
With this new reset of OpFactions, we took a step back to look at what current features we offer, and which of those require some improvements. So for this season we did a lot of feature enhancements and bug fixes instead of adding a bunch of new features.
We have some much-appreciated changes waiting for you! So make sure to read the post and see what we have in store for you this upcoming season, because we are very excited to show you!

End of the world
We will be hosting an end-of-season event to celebrate the end of the season. At around 3 days before the release, we will be placing reset signs at spawn which you can click and claim a number of rewards; Free items, Free gkits, Millions of in-game money, and Tons of free experience to level up your overpowered armor. Everyone will be able to finish their rank-ups because you can get everything for free. You can fight with everyone without the fear of losing your gear you have weeks to gather. So clearly this is the event everyone should participate in! Hop on OpFactions and have fun!

The following are the most important features/modifications implemented toward this season's map and functions.
Payouts! Faction Top Rewards
This new season of OpFactions we will have bi-weekly rewards for the top factions! This will go on until the end of the season which will last exactly 5 weeks or 35 days and end with the final payout. View all the dates in the /payouts menu.
(!) The season will end 1 day later, on a Saturday, to give everyone a full last day to participate.

New! Spawn
It is time for a new season, and what better way to do that than with a brand-new spawn?
Like every season the spawn will be filled with information & features, here is a list of the things you can find around spawn.
A new spawn with a new underwater theme
Are you looking for some help? There are plenty of NPCs explaining all the features.
Supply drops can be found all around the warzone, this season with more drops at once.
A new seasonal crate has been added again.
Updated! Worlds
As every season needs a spawn we will also need some worlds for you to start your base in. There will be an overworld and an end world like all seasons, and worlds themed to the worlds fitting for this reset.
There will be a total of 20 corners, these being the following

New! Dragon Masks
These Dragon Masks are a new type of mask that can be applied on top of your helmet, next to your existing mask, these dragon masks will help you out grinding in the Dark Zone, and give you a buff per boss in each zone. You can obtain these Dragon Masks from all different types of loot bags.
As there are 4 zones in the Dark Zone we will be adding 4 dragon masks, these 4 masks are the following:

New! Faction Corner
Having to rush to a corner and being the first one to claim it has always been a struggle over the past seasons. People would claim around it while you got the actual corner claim, these claims had to be removed by a staff member, which sometimes could take some time, and the process of waiting for your corner to finally be able to be used was a dealbreaker for most players to just get rid of the corner and make their base somewhere else.
Within the new season of OpFactions, we will be adding an essential command to our factions plugin, the /f corner command.
With this command, you will be able to claim the corner within an instant! Simply head to the fullest corner chunk, and type /f corner.
After executing the command you will automatically claim the whole corner with the maximum buffer amount. This will make going for the corner on release worth your time once again without having to deal with those annoying little factions claiming around it!
New! Weekend KOTHs
On the weekends most players will have time to play, and we'd like to reward those players returning to our OpFactions server. Because of that we will be now hosting weekend KOTHs with overpowered loot that you can your faction can obtain.
A weekend KOTH is like a normal KOTH, but with way stronger loot. This weekend KOTHs will only run on Friday, Saturday & Sunday. So there's plenty of time for everyone to enjoy these brand-new KOTHs and their new loot table.
You can view all the KOTH loot using the /koth command.
New! Spawner Upgrades
The spawners will have a major improvement this season, going from a maximum of 54 spawners to 100. On top of that, upgrading spawners by stacking them on top of each other will now cost nothing.
You will be able to stack up to 100 spawners into one, instead of having to pay for each upgrade 54 times.
Because of the removal of the spawner upgrade cost, we decided to add something new and refreshing so that you can further enhance your grinding and your spawners. We will be adding different spawner boosts for every spawner as well. These boosts can be unlocked by paying heads of the mob that spawns from the spawner.
Spawner Boost Level
Each spawner has a boost level, this can be unlocked with experience and the heads of the mob from that spawner as well.
Your spawner has a total of 10 levels giving the following boosts:

Updated! Faction Fly
Last season we disabled fly in other faction claims, but this has led to a lot of community complaints. We have looked into the issue and are going to make you able to fly in other faction claims again. However, you can still not fly in base claims of other factions.
This means once you are raiding another faction you will be able to fly through their walls that you have exploded, flying on top of the walls, and just having an easier time raiding the enemies at their base, but as soon as you get to the center of the base, the base claim, your fly will be disabled again.
You can view a base their base claim location using the /f map.
Updated! Printer
We have noticed some issues with the printer since last season, so for this one, we have looked into these issues and are confident to tell you that all of the printer issues have once again been fixed, and we have added some extra blocks to the printer as well.
Added banners.
Added wool & all colors.
Added clay.
Added all doors & trapdoors.
You will no longer be kicked for sending too many packets or by the anti-cheat while printing as well. The printer mode should now be a smoother experience.
Updated! Gen Buckets & Blocks
Gen Buckets and Blocks are an important aspect of the factions server. Because of that, we decided to add some more variants and to change some smaller things about them as well.
With the recent addition, last season of being able to change the directions of a gen bucket the players have been asking us to add horizontal slab gen buckets and blocks, which is why we will be introducing them this season.
You can obtain these buckets and blocks as you all other ones, in the /shop.
Updated! Mob Coins
A good way to gain some extra items has always been using mob coins.
For this season we will be buffing the number of mob coins you obtain from grinding mobs.
The mob coins from killing mobs in the Dark Zone have even been buffed tripled the amount of the regular mobs you kill in your base. This will make the Dark Zone mobs a valuable source for grinding some new extra items as well.
On top of just buffing the drops, we also updated the /transfer shop. We removed items that aren't useful anymore and added a bunch of new ones in the static and in the rotational shop.
Updated! Chunk Busters
The community suggested that we should improve the chunk busters as currently, it takes a while to remove a whole corner once you have it claimed. This is why for this season we thought it would be helpful to make a few minor changes to the Chunk Buster.
After using it, the 5-second warmup time has been removed.
The chunk buster speed has been increased by a lot.
Added a setting to remove the Chunk Buster confirmation menu.
With these changes, we hope that it's a bit easier to get started with that base building.
Updated! Faction Rules
A healthy competition starts with some basic rules. Our Faction Striking system has been a great help with that, but the Factions Team has made some other modifications to the rules, making them more clear and preventing any miscommunications from the Factions Team towards the players. Here are the rule changes for this season.
The rule related to value boxes will now also disallow splitting boxes with obsidian walls over the limit (so if you split a box with an obsidian wall, it will count as 2 boxes). | Any and all violations of the buffer limit rule will be punishable, meaning 21 chunks with an equal number of walls will no longer be allowed. | Reduced buffer counter walls limit from 6 to 4 chunks. | |
Reduced maximum amount of anti-nuke walls from 3 chunks to 1 chunk. | To be qualified for payouts, you can no longer have any value spawners below Y = 190 (value spawners: iron golem, zombie pigman, villager, and silverfish). |
These rules can still be changed before the start of the season, so please keep that in mind!
Fixed! Bugs
We did our best to polish and fix as many existing bugs inside the OpFactions server. We have looked through all the bug reports and managed to fix them. If you come across any bugs with the new release, make sure to report them at our forums under the bug reports section.
Here are a few of the bugs we squished out:
- Fixed eternal not having some perks.
- Fixed eternal faction color not changing the colors.
- Fixed /bm time reset.
- Fixed swordsman class voucher
- Fixed some banknotes not working.
- Fixed killmessages
- Fixed spawners not dropping from creepereggs.
- Fixed infinite chests not being picked up properly
- Fixed pet cooldown.
- Fixed level 52 in /playerlevel
- Fixed some missing black-market items.
Misc. Updates and changes.
After receiving some suggestions about modifying a couple of things, we have decided to make the following modifications in order to make everyone's Factions experience much better. We have modified a few features which were present on the previous map, and here is the list including those modifications, along with a justification for the majority:
- Updated all plugins
- Updated anticheat
- Updated /payouts menu
- Updated seasonal crate rewards
- Modified cooldown to be 5 days instead of 7.
- Added new KOTHs
- Slightly improved the Knockback
- Prevented people from pearling in to safezones.
- Improved enderpearls
- Nerfed bandit base special set.
- Fixed enderpearls not being slowed in water.
- Made shield only work on base claims
- Made it so sand wand updates water.
- Added a bleeding timer.

Question and Answers
Why does OpFactions reset?
OpFactions is already up for some time. A reset has to happen to change and improve with new features, to make the game more exciting for you all! This then allows you players to have a fresh start and new players can begin to play without any significant disadvantage.
This means all items, money, and the map will be reset. Nothing will be kept leftover from the previous map. I know this must be a disappointing revelation for a lot of you, but think about the exciting new changes, the new alliances you can forge, the new map, the new features and updates the different kinds of gameplay, and style is provided with this update will surely make it a worth-while and exciting reset!
