The OpFactions reset is here, once again filled with some things that needed to be changed & required adjustments.
For this season we will be looking into polishing out some new features that we added last season as well as adding some more new things for you to do at our OpFactions server.
Below you can find most of the changes we have made and what has been added, I’m sure I forgot to mention it all but I’m sure giving it a good read over you will be familiar with most you're going to see. If there is however still something you want changing, feel free to mention it on this thread before its release, we can still consider making the change.
This season we will also be hosting a Christmas Base Design event, which will be announced later on after release, so get your base building ready!
Are you ready to hop into a new season?! Say no more. The update will be released this Friday, December 17th, 2021.
It will begin with a one-week grace period, after which a map lasting 4 weeks will begin.

End of the world
To celebrate the end of the season, we will be hosting an end-of-season event. At around 3 days before the release, we will be placing reset signs at spawn which you can click and claim a number of rewards; Free items, Free gkits, Millions of in-game money, Tons of free experience to level up your overpowered armor. Everyone will be able to finish their rank-ups because you can get everything for free. You can fight with everyone without the fear of losing your gear you have weeks to gather. So clearly this is the event everyone should participate in! Hop on OpFactions and have fun!
Changelog
Here is the list of changes for this reset. I would recommend giving it a good read-over to make sure you are familiar with everything you are going to see.
New! Spawn
Every season needs its brand new spawn and buildings, therefore we've decided to have a Christmas for this season. We loved how it turned out to be, and we hope you all do too! The warzone will be filled with Christmas decorations to give you a warm and cozy December feeling while you are pvping your enemies.
The spawn contains multiple KOTHs again.
For December we will be adding Present Drops in our spawn. These presents are filled with loot and can be claimed by clicking on them. These drops will randomly happen, so keep an eye on the chat for when they start.
Updated! Worlds
As every season needs a spawn we will also need some worlds for you to start your base in. This season we decided to lower the size of the overworld as well.
There will be a total of 20 corners, these being the following
OverWorld (/spawn)
The border for the overworld will be 10,000 x 10,000 (-5,000 to 5,000) - The spawn is located in the middle.
KOTHs will be located at each side of /spawn close to it.
The End (/warp end)
The border for the end world will be 10,000 x 10,000 (-5,000 to 5,000) - The warp is located in the middle.
Flat sandstone will be placed from Y:1 to Y:30.
This warp counts with 1 KOTH.
Pirate World (/warp pirate)
The border for the desert world will be 7,500 x 7,500 (-3,750 to 3,750) - The warp is located in the middle.
Flat yellow clay will be placed from Y:1 to Y:30.
This warp counts with 1 KOTH.
Snow World (/warp Snow)
The border for the Jungle world will be 7,500 x 7,500 (-3,750 to 3,750) The warp is located in the middle.
Flat Snow will be placed from Y:1 to Y:30.
An outpost will be located within this world.
Jungle World (/warp end)
The border for the knight world will be 7,500 x 7,500 (-3,750 to 3,750) - The warp is located in the middle.
Flat green clay will be placed from Y:1 to Y:30.
This warp counts with 1 KOTH.
New! Enchantments
We want to make the enchantments in OpFactions stay semi-vanilla, but for this season we decided it's about time to add some enchantments related to grinding.
A total of 3 new enchantments have been added to help you out while grinding.
Experience I-IV - Legendary Enchantment
This enchant will give you an exp boost, which increased the higher your enchant level is. This will only affect experience from grinding mobs.
Mobheads I-X - Crazy Enchantment
This enchant will give you extra mob head drops from the mobs you kill while grinding
Mobcoins I-VII - Crazy Enchantment
This enchant will give you extra mobcoins from the mobs you kill while grinding.
New! Advent Calendar
To get into the Christmas spirit we will be giving away a free reward every single day! How do you get those rewards? Simple! All you have to do is log in every day during the December month, look for the Advent Calendar NPC within the spawn, and claim your daily gift, how awesome is that.
Every day will have different types of rewards, so make sure you don't miss any of them.
New! Community Milestones
This season we will be introducing a whole new feature as well, this feature is called the Community Milestones.
A community milestone is a goal that has to be reached by the whole server, you can see this as a global mission where all players participate.
Once the milestone has been completed a reward will be given to all online players.
Make sure to link your Discord account in order to receive those rewards.
After the milestone has been done, and the rewards have been given out, a new milestone will automatically start. Each milestone has a different time to complete, different rewards, and different tasks to do.
Some of the tasks a milestone can be:
- Kill x players
- Kill x mobs
- Open x enchantment books
- and more OpFaction Related tasks
New! Faction Bundle
This bundle gives you all the items that you need to start up with your faction at the start of the season. In order to receive this bundle, you must have a faction member count of 20 members. Get this bundle by contacting a Team Factions Staff on our discord, or a staff in-game. Faction Bundles will be given to Factions that have at least 20 members.
Simply ask for a member of team factions to receive your bundle. Faction bundles include temporary ranks, trench tools, chunk busters, and more to get you and your faction started! Please note that staff may question you for additional information prior to handing out the faction bundle!
The faction bundle contains some useful items for you and your faction such as:
- Shockwave Pickaxe
- Seasonal Rank
- A few spawners
- Faction Tokens
- Chunk Busters
New! Faction Grace Command
You will now be able to view the status of a faction simply using the /f grace <faction> command.
This command will show you the following two things:
If the shield is active.
If the faction is on a safety break.
This command should make raiding a bit more organized, and it will make things easier for you to view whats going on with a faction.
Updated! Transfer Shop
We took the time to do a complete overhaul of the /transfer shop. Some item prices have been changed and the rotational shop has been completely re-setup with brand new items as well.
Some of the changes we did for the shop pricing:
McMmo 50 Credits voucher - 3000 > 2000 Mob Coins
Sellwand 20 uses - 5000 > 1500 Mob Coins (and made it 100 uses)
1x1 Chunk Buster - 2000 > 700 Mob Coins
Sell Harverster Hoe - 7000 > 2500 Mob Coins
Charged Creeper Egg - 4000 > 2000 Mob Coins
Throwable Creeper Egg - 5000 > 3000
Updated! Factions Strike System
In order to make the OP Factions experience the best it could be for everyone, we have decided to make some changes to our strikes system. From now on any player who breaks an OP Factions-specific rule after their faction has previously received 10 strikes will be IP-banned temporarily or permanently, depending on the offense. You can check all new punishment trees on our rules page (click HERE). This applies regardless of whether the player leaves the faction that has 10 strikes and it doesn't apply to factions that have never received 10 strikes before.
Updated! Factions Roster
We have heard the feedback on the faction roster and took the required changes to implement it properly for this season. We also fixed all the bugs related to the roster as well.
Weekly Rotation Limit
After the grace period, you can only make 3 rotations per week with your roster, so you can only add and/or remove 3 players from the roster. This does not include automatic cycling, but only manual changes to the roster.
Roster Capacity
A roster max capacity has been added, the max size of your roster is 40 members, so double the amount of your available faction member slots.
Updated! Counter Claims
The side counterclaims have received a small rework, and will now act as raid claims as well. These claims will now automatically expire after 12 hours and will have a different color shown on the /f map.
You can also now claim these chunks in a radius.
When side-countering make sure to use these new counterclaims by using the /f raid counter command.
Updated! Raid Timers
The raid timers are a perfect feature for OpFactions, but we have noticed some small issues with them.
We took some time to discuss and talk about the raid timers with some known faction players and we came up with a perfect solution to implement the raid timers in a better way to provide a better experience for everyone.
Some things we changed about the raid timers:
- Incoming raids will no longer show on /f raids. So get back to checking your walls everyone!
- A raid will only start on a faction if the chunk you shot in is connected to a base claim.
- A raid will only start if the target claim is a normal claim, so not a raid/counterclaim.
- Both factions involved in the raid are now protected and can only participate in the active raid, no other faction can interfere.
These changes should polish out the raid timer feature completely. And we hope you all agree with this.
Creeper-egging in a base claim is only possible if a TNT has been shot into that base claim recently. So your base claim is now always protected unless it has been raided.
Updated! Player Levels
The player levels have been a feature that has been introduced last season, and for this season we will be revamping them. We have noticed the players were able to speedrun through most of the player levels with ease, so we will be rebalancing them out to make them harder the further you get into them.
This also means that the rewards should be a bit better if a player level is more challenging, so you can expect some new rewards too!
Fixed! Bugs
We did our best to polish and fix as many existing bugs inside the OpFactions server. We have looked through all the bug reports and managed to fix them. If you come across any bug with the new release, make sure to report them at our forums under the bug reports section.
Here are a few of the bugs we squished out:
- Fixed chunkbusters lagging the server sometimes.
- Fixed being able to use sellwands in other faction claims.
- Fixed sand stacking on warzone.
- Fixed tray & shockwave pickaxes flagging the anticheat.
- Fixed enderpearls getting you stuck in blocks.
- and many more.
Misc. Updates and changes.
After receiving some suggestions about modifying a couple of things, we have decided to make the following modifications in order to make everyone's Factions experience much better. We have modified a few features which were present on the previous map, and here is the list including those modifications, along with a justification for the majority:
- Added a new warp pvp.
- Changed some crate rewards.
- Fixed some genbuckets not being dynamic.
- Added silverfish spawners to /shop.
- Removed the ability of allies being able to teleport inside your claims.
- Buffed f mission rewards.
Please note: Any suggestions for changes feel free to leave them in the comments.
Question and Answers
Why does OpFactions reset?
OpFactions is already up for some time. A reset has to happen to change and improve with new features, to make the game more exciting for you all! This then allows you players to have a fresh start and new players can begin to play without any significant disadvantage.
This means all items, money, and the map will be reset. Nothing will be kept leftover from the previous map. Of course, all purchases will be reissued so nobody will be out of pocket in that regard. I know this must be a disappointing revelation for a lot of you, but think about the exciting new changes, the new alliances you can forge, the new map, the new features and updates the different kinds of gameplay, and style is provided with this update will surely make it a worth-while and exciting reset!
