When we think of Minecraft, our minds go directly to survival worlds where players experience
PvE (player vs. environment). However, during the massive expansion of the game for the past
few years, Minecraft has made it possible for its players to create their own mini-games.
Undoubtedly, the most popular mini-game in this sector of the game is called Bedwars.
What is Bedwars?

Bedwars is a mini-game that involves players trying to destroy other players’ beds while
defending their own. Games are usually competed in maps that are built in the sky with
multiple islands; each team/player has their own islands with other islands acting as mineral
generators or simply a way to navigate.
Players are able to upgrade themselves by utilizing different minerals. Basic minerals such as
Iron and Gold can be collected in their home islands from the start, while Diamonds and
Emeralds must be collected from other unprotected islands. These minerals can be used to
purchase better weapons, armor, building blocks, island upgrades, team upgrades, and much
more.
Universal Bedwars Rules

Bedwars tends to get very competitive as it is a PvP (player vs. player) gamemode. Each server
has its own leaderboard that determines each players’ rankings for many different categories.
However, this ultimately results in some players “going too far” by breaking rules, or more
severely, utilizing disallowed modifications to the game. Here are a few known rules on
possibly every Bedwars server so that you can avoid getting punished:
  1. Cross Teaming Cross teaming is the idea of two or more teams working together to
seek an advantage. This is clearly unacceptable as the team that is not cross teaming
    will be crucially outnumbered.
  2. Team Killing/Trolling Killing or “trolling” is the act of unhelpful behavior to
teammates. Please be considerate to those around you and not spread negative
actions to any sort of community.
Although three very important rules that would apply to most of the Bedwars servers out
there, we would highly recommend always checking the rules to each server before playing.
Bedwars Strategies

The gamemode has developed to the extent to which players have come up with strategies
that could be implemented to different game scenarios. Here are a few known strategies that
you could utilize to step-up your Bedwars game:
  1. Rushing As soon as the game starts, as quickly as possible, purchase the minimum
amount of blocks needed to get to another players’ base island. Bridge to their island
as quickly as possible and break their bed. If quick enough, the opposing players will
not be expecting such a rapid attack, lacking defenses. Rushing is a great option as you
will be starting with multiple islands, meaning double the iron and gold generators
    than your opponents.
  2. Bridging → Bridging is the act of placing blocks below you to get from one island to
another. There are many different ways to bridge such as speed bridging and stair
bridging. Speed bridging is the idea of unshifting when you have enough platform on
the block and then shifting again as soon as you reach the end of the block. This
provides optimal speed with the safety of shifting. Stair bridging is essentially building
upward and forward at the same time. Although a slower tactic, players can bridge
safely without having to consider other players hitting them off at the same level of
    height.
Although there are many other advanced Bedwars strategies as well, we decided to keep it
simple with the basics that even beginners can utilize.
The Best Bedwars Server

Pika Network is globally known to host one of the best Minecraft Bedwars servers based on
a couple factors: connection, maps, staff team, and updates.
Starting with connection, issues with lag are very common on Minecraft servers, but it is also
an issue that can annoy players when it comes to PvP gameplay; one short lag spike can cause
a whole ripple effect to a Bedwars game, which makes flawless connection important.
Maps and builds are crucial when it comes to Bedwars gameplay as well. Players have their
own biases when it comes to which map is easier or harder to play on, making map rotations
extremely important for a fresh experience. Pika Network is known to frequently release
new builds and maps, not only in Bedwars but also in other gamemodes as well.
The staff team on Pika Network is known for their activity and commitment to the server,
whether it be in-game, Discord, or on the forums. A majority of them play Bedwars as well,
making it much more efficient to look for cheaters, flaws, and overall assist with the
development of the gamemode.
Finally, updates are important for any minigame to ensure that bugs, glitches, and outdated
content is effectively dealt with. Pika Network has their own “change log” and “updates”
channel where they make changes to the server every single day. Extreme attention is given to
the network, showing how much they care about their players and community.
