Welcome everyone! Today, we’re talking with one of Pika Network’s youngest yet most responsible reporters. At just 13 years old, they’ve contributed over 150 reports with an 80% acceptance rate, proving that dedication and fairness matter more than age. Let’s get started.
1. What made you interested in reporting players at such a young age?
Ans- Initially, I started playing on this server to play multiplayer with other people and friends, since it was the first server I joined after playing singleplayer for 3 years. However, after I got banned on July 12, 2023, and signed up on forums to appeal, I started exploring this place a bit more, the forums to be precise, where I got to know staff members such as Ungluecklicher, DanielT_, xDeleted, iFkiller, Bordem (now known as Limy, and the one who banned me), and many more. Apart from staff members, I also met a few Great Reporters such as JustSuperiorr (now known as aeserior, and was not staff at that time), ABDMK12413 (was also not staff at that time), Freez, etc. I didn’t know voting was a thing at that time, and I wanted a rank, too, be it in-game or on the forums. So, this was the only rank that I knew I could get at that time. Moreover, it’s not just for a rank or to be a popular member in the server; I also felt that helping the community in whatever way I can, whether through reports or by directly performing staff duties, is what I’m made for, something which I can be good at. So, I started my journey in 2024, and I still report to this day, with 280+ accepted reports, as of now.
2. What do you do to make sure your reports are accurate?
Ans- Earlier, I mostly reported obvious things, so I didn’t have to do much to make sure they were accurate. However, as I increased the variation of my reports, I sometimes confirm with staff members, especially aeserior, or from the punishments page (if I find anything) for some reports.
3. How do you feel when one of your reports gets accepted?
Ans- My goal towards reporting is to become a Great Reporter and to help the community. Earlier, it felt nice to see an accepted report as it made progress on my road to Great Reporter. Right now, I don’t feel as much as I used to earlier, since I already have Great Reporter, but it does always feel good to help the community.
4. Was it difficult balancing school and reporting on the server?
Ans- Not really. I plan out my time for school and the time for playing. I mostly do my work from school during the evening and play at night, which is the time I get reports, as much as I can. For the weekends, I do the school work during the day and the afternoon, and then play at evening and at night, I get nearly 4-6 hours every weekend (Friday and Saturday). To conclude, it wasn’t really difficult, at least for now, since school right now is not very time-consuming; I don’t know about the later stages.
5. What’s the most important rule you think players should follow?
Ans- In terms of being important, I would say mute and ban evasion, duping, falsifying evidence, doxxing, buycraft scamming, and advertising, as these are very important rules in the server, and can result in either a very long or permanent ban upon breaking them. In terms of frequency, I will say that spamming, swearing, and discrimination are rules that should be followed, as punishments for these offenses are very frequent.
6. Have you ever felt nervous submitting a report? What helped?
Ans- I can’t really say nervous, since one denied report won’t do anything, and will rather be something to learn from, but I can definitely say that I felt unsure a few times when submitting reports. As I already mentioned, viewing the punishments page, confirming with aeserior are a few things which helped.
7. Who inspired or helped you become a good reporter?
Ans- As I already mentioned, staff members such as aeserior, ABDMK12413, Freez, etc., who were all Great Reporters at that time, inspired me to become a Great Reporter.
8. What advice would you give other young players who want to help the server?
Ans- Similar to what I do, I would advise other players to help the server by creating player reports, following the rules, helping players in #community-help on Discord, creating suggestions and bug reports, and even staff feedback, too, if possible. This is not only for young players, but for everyone who plays here. Another possible way is to buy items or gold from the store, to help the server earn some income, if possible.
9. How did you learn the rules so well?
Ans- Many things helped me learn the rules well. The most obvious one is reading all the rule explanations. A few other things that I did, which not only helped me learn the rules but also helped me gain the other required knowledge of the server, were reading all the articles. However, there weren’t as many articles back then as there are today, so I kept myself up-to-date by reading anything new that came out. Other ways I learned the rules include reflecting on denied reports, and another crucial point is viewing the punishments page often, to see what players can get punished for, and to understand what is disallowed.
10. Do you have any other aspirations in this server further?
Ans- Apart from becoming staff here, I also have other aspirations, most of which are almost everything outside staff, such as becoming better in gamemodes such as BedWars and PracticePvP, the ones which I currently play, and exploring new gamemodes such as Factions, SkyBlock, GenPvP, etc. I also want to be 1st in overall messages on Discord, and maybe improve my forums stats too, such as getting 300 points, 10,000+ messages (if possible), and 1,000+ reaction score.
Thank you for taking part in this interview. Your effort, maturity, and positive attitude are truly inspiring. We hope your journey encourages other young players to help the community in a responsible way.Good luck Ankush My friend.....
