1. How were you introduced to pika? How did you start in pika?
Ans- I used to play SkyBlock and Prison in Jartex, then shifted to Pika to play OPP. I used to main Prison in another server where I played for over two years but they lost funds to maintain the server and it became insanely buggy, plus the staff were abusing all the time. After that, I left that server and somehow found Jartex. I can't remember why exactly Jartex but it was likely due to my friends moving there.
2. Was being a developer always your dream or was it something you wanted to do after watching others?
Ans- At first, I didn't have plans to become a Developer. My main goal was to just have a great time, but around that time I was playing Kit-PvP which was infested with hackers, so I applied for staff and got accepted first try, but unfortunately got demoted after being a Trial for 4 months due to failing to pass my trial period(not exactly demoted in the sense that I can't reapply but removed pretty much). Then I joined PikaNerds(which is now discontinued and merged to form the CraftiCouncil), there I was able to work with and help the devs. I also joined Team Events as one of their first members after PikaNerds. Applications for QA were opened around that time, so I applied and gave my best, and then got selected for the position.
3. How's life working as a quality assurance dev in crafti council going for you?
Working as a QA for Craftigames is amazing. I have great flexibility, I can work whenever and wherever. Everyone on the team is nice and really collaborative. There is a ton going on and I get to learn new things everyday. One of the main reasons why I work is that I am gaining a ton of valuable experience. While I can't discuss anything in detail or provide any information due to my NDA, I will say that Craftigames is a great company with an extraordinary work environment and people who are supportive, plus fun to work with.
4. Who was your best friend in pika? Or is i suppose?
The closest to me during my journey were my IRL friends. I had great interactions with people from Pika and Jartex as well but none like the support I received from my IRL friends.
5. How does it feel like to be an developer?
There's more responsibility and accountability as a Developer. The feeling of helping players is always great! I am now directly responsibility in the final product that the players actually get to play and make memories in. There is stress sometimes(rarely) but it does feel amazing to see all your hard work together along with the efforts of so many people to get a final product that will entertain players, helping them relieve stress and have a great time.
6. Though we know what you do can you explain your profession in brief?
Due to my NDA, I can't go into unreleased specifics. But I primarily work on gamemode resets and in the bug fixes processes, doesn't sound that impressive but there is actually a lot more to it to get a gamemode ready for release. I also interact with players to document what they want to see and ensure that bugs get fixed. My main goal is to ensure that the gamemodes stay bug-free and players feel heard.
7. At last, what other hobbies do you have ?
I actually play football a ton, I have been playing for years now and participated in multiple tournaments. During my free time, I focus on learning skills and keep myself away from distractions(Minecraft is pretty much the only video game I regularly play, besides that maybe gaming for a couple of hours with friends during the weekends). Recently, I am trying to learn C#, 3D modelling and web dev for some personal projects. I also spend my free time trying to solve actual problems and am fascinated by the concept of computational linguistics(mainly machine learning), I have won a few Hackathons and the national round of an international AI competition before and plan to prepare further so I can win more. This year, I am also trying to go the gym regularly, not that I need to but I want to work on my physique.
TY to @Jinanplayz_YT for his support through out this period. Its nice to be back....
