I use a mac with optifine mod. I have 8 Gigs of Ram, and a i5 intel processor. For some reason i can't get above 60 FPS at all whatsoever. I've tried all the forums, all the youtube videos, and tutorials around the net. I can't get my FPS higher then 60 FPS even if my settings are "Unlimited" under the max framerate.

Anyone else use a mac and having a similar issue? Any known fixes? Could this be a server issue? Does the server have a max framerate cap? Dont know really if thats possible but at this point i'm grabbing in the dark for ideas of why i can't increase my FPS.

Well mac's are not good for gaming...
try buying a new grapics kard for your MAC.Thats the most importan part to get higer frame rate
And PC's are better for gaming then MAC's

Yes same for me but on Ubuntu because windows only is good for gaming then I can't get 60fps

Me too i use mac and i can only have 60 fps i don;t know why :(

Lel, I have a super old laptop (not gonna say specs 'cause they are too bad) but I still get about 40-60 frames on skywars and eggwars, since those minigames have their maps set in a void world

of course you can get 40-60 fps on skywars or eggwars because the are a void and less builds on old pc

Have you tried to lower the Render distance? keep it at 8 or something for good results. And please mention the Processor specs? And the Graphics card specs.....

I Use a macbook air and i get around 100 fps without optifine....

How much RAM have you allocated dude? And next time press F12 before taking a screenie like this to remove all boards and the inv slot.

Yeah i know.... This was an old one though since my minecraft is messed up right now. (I used it to get those Coords to someones plot in Prison that i forgot his name.)

But not to hurt any feelings......but Macs are the worst gaming hardware you can get. You can make a much more capable Windows based PC with the money you put into that. I know i did xD My dad told me for my Birthday maybe four or five years back that he would buy me a Mac but i told him nah you give me that money and i will build one myself. And now i have a pretty good set up if i say so myself xD Like 32GB RAM for Gaming and other heavy duty stuff, one Titan X and one GTX 970. I have a Gaming-grade MB and a Core i7-5960k and fully water cooled. I even bought myself some new stuff like a keyboard, mouse and a headset with the money i got on my birthday this year <3

Oh yeah i know macs are the worst thing for gaming but honestly its what i use when i'm not at my house so it suits me fine.
