Changelog
This revamp is a big one, so a lot of things have been removed, changed, and updated, buckle up and get ready to dive into the changelog for what the future of Factions has to offer at PikaNetwork.
Latest version! While being faithful to 1.8
In our newest Factions season, we're excited to run the game on Minecraft 1.20.2. But don't worry, we've worked hard to keep your favorite parts of the game the same.
Cannoning is close to 1.8 cannon mechanics.
We've obtained a Faction jar that lets us almost perfectly copy the 1.8 version cannons.
These cannons are a bit different to work with the higher world, but switching to this new mode should feel smooth and familiar.
We will be having 1.8 PvP
When it comes to PvP, we know it's important to keep things the way our players like them. Even though we're updating to the latest Minecraft version, we want to make sure PvP feels like the good old 1.8 style. So, there won't be any crystals, elytras, or strong shields. We will have shields, but they'll be used more for blocking hits, like in the older version of Minecraft, and not as powerful as in the newest Minecraft version. We're doing this to make sure PvP stays fun and familiar for everyone.
We know the update to the latest version might be something a lot of players do not like, but here at PikaNetwork we think these newer versions are the future of the game, we can not keep maintaining a server version that is reaching its decade-old birthday soon. The community is important to us, so by having a new factions on 1.20, while being faithful to 1.8 we think there is a best of both worlds. The server can be played from any version starting from 1.18, all the way up to the latest version (currently 1.20).
We hope that you are also ready to move on and take a step into the future of the gamemodes, we have done our best to make something truly special with it.
Resourcepack! An optional resource pack
In addition to the thrilling updates in the new Factions season, we're also introducing an optional resource pack designed to significantly enhance your gameplay experience.
Immerse yourself in a more vibrant and engaging environment with this pack, which features stunning new looks for special sets and weapons, giving each item a unique and eye-catching aesthetic. But it's not just about looks – the pack also includes a range of brand-new sound effects that add depth and realism to your gameplay, making every action feel more impactful.
Express yourself
We've also added a variety of emotes, allowing players to express themselves in fun and creative ways. These emotes add an extra layer of interaction and personality to the game, making your Factions experience more enjoyable and social.
Want to go back to the basics?
For those players who prefer the original Minecraft aesthetic, rest assured that we've taken your preferences into consideration. Our game mode has been structured to accommodate gameplay without the resource pack. However, we enthusiastically recommend embracing the resource pack for a heightened experience. It's our belief that utilizing the resource pack will significantly augment your time spent in the Factions game mode.
Remember, this resource pack is entirely optional, but we highly recommend trying it out to see how it transforms your Factions experience into something even more exciting and engaging. Dive into this enhanced world and discover all the new features waiting to make your game better than ever!
Payouts! Faction Top Rewards
Just like OpFactions, the new Faction reset will have the introduction of Faction Top, with its payouts attached to it.
In this new season of Factions, we will have bi-weekly rewards for the top factions!
This will go on until the end of the season which will last exactly 5 weeks or 35 days and end with the final payout.
View all the dates in the /payouts menu.

Worlds! 4 Worlds for you and your Faction
But what's Factions without its diverse worlds?
For this release of the brand-new Factions realm, we're introducing four unique worlds, each with its own distinct theme.
These worlds are designed to offer varied and exciting landscapes for your factional adventures, leveraging the expanded capabilities of Minecraft 1.20.2.
The overworld will be your vanilla-generated world, while all the other 3 worlds are flat worlds, ready for you to step into the base-building action.
Each world will have a Y level of 0, so not the -64 from other versions, the Y level however goes up to a total of 320.
There will be a total of 16 corners, these being the following:

Nether Wart Harvester Hoe! Your main source of income to start
Every player will begin their journey with a special tool: the Netherwart Harvester Hoe.
This unique hoe is your key to starting your grind and earning money in the game.
The Netherwart Harvester Hoe is designed specifically for harvesting fully grown nether warts. When you use it to break a fully matured nether wart, the hoe does two things automatically: it sells the nether wart for you and replants a new one in its place. This makes your farming process efficient and effortless, allowing you to focus on building up your resources and growing your faction's wealth and power.
Earn Essence to enhance your Hoe
Each nether wart you break will earn you Essence, this Essence is essential to further enhance your farming adventures.
Your nether wart hoe has 4 available upgrades, that you need to roll for.
These 4 upgrades are the following:
Frenzy | Experience | Terra | Essence | ||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Gives XP when farming warts. | Increases the amount of warts harvested. |
|
These upgrades can be rolled for, for 150,000 Essence you will obtain a random level from 1 - 5, the higher the level, the better the boost. If you are not happy with your current level you can roll again, but be aware that this can also result in a level lower than what you had before!
Souls! A currency to grind for
We're excited to introduce a new in-game currency in our latest Factions season: Souls.
This ethereal currency is earned through the thrill of combat, both against other players and mobs within the game.
Every time you defeat a player or a mob, there is a chance you'll be rewarded with Souls.
Spend your souls on the black market
These hard-earned Souls can be spent in a special place: the Black Market.
The Black Market is an exclusive in-game shop where you can exchange Souls for rare and powerful items.
The Black Market has a static shop, which has the same items every day, but also with a limited stock.
These items are certain armor pieces, creeper eggs, sell wands, sand wands, and much more.
Next to the static Black Market shop there also is a rotating Black Market Shop, which has new and fresh limited items every day.
Custom Enchantments! A selection of enchants to boost you
We have decided to introduce a handful of custom enchantments to Factions, to make it a different experience than you are used to on OpFactions.
We will be only adding a few enchantments to start off, and we will continue to see how it goes, and what we can do to keep the PvP as smooth as possible, even with the introduction of custom enchantments.
Purchase 3 different tier books from the /enchanter using experience.
The experience you grind can be used in order to purchase 3 different tiers of enchantment books from the enchanter, those tiers are Rare, Epic, and Legendary.
Each season has its own unique seasonal enchantments.
Every season we will introduce a bulk of new enchantments, to keep things fresh, themed with the map of that season, the first season we will be launching is a Space Season. (For the old-school players, the spawn might bring back some nostalgia). So to kick things off we will be having a handful of Galaxy enchantments, which you can obtain from crates.
...but that's not all!
Another exclusive book type we will be adding is Soul Enchantments. These enchantment books can be bought from the black market using souls. They get stocked up every day, so you have to be fast to get these enchantments, as they might be sold out within a short timeframe.

But that's not all! You can view all potential tasks and rewards, though you'll be assigned one at random based on the rarity that you purchase.
Once activated you have a certain time to complete your randomly assigned quest.
These quests are designed to give you a great boost, as you are limited to how many quests you can do per day.
How to purchase quests?
As mentioned before, you can purchase these from the Quest Shop, there are 5 different tiers, Common, Rare, Epic, Legendary, and Mythical.

Earn crowns! Climb the Crown Top for more rewards
A lovely and recently introduced feature from OpFactions is the Crown Top, we will be bringing this feature over to our new 1.20 factions realm as well.
The Crown Top, also known as PvP Top, is a competition that is open to all players and happens every season.
How to earn Crowns?
Earning crowns is a simple process – you can earn crowns with your faction or alone by participating in server-wide events. You will earn crowns for completing various tasks:
Capturing a KOTH | Holding an Outpost |
---|---|
Each faction member participating in capturing a KOTH will earn 25 Crowns. | For every 15 minutes your faction is holding the outpost every online faction member will earn 1 Crown. |
At the end of the season, the top 3 crowned players will receive a reward in the form of Pika Iron.
First place: €125 worth of Iron currency.
Second place: €90 worth of Iron currency.
Third place: €50 worth of Iron currency.
KOTH & Outpost! Constant PvP action
Just like OpFactions, the newly revamped factions will have KOTHs and outposts for you to capture.
KOTHs
The overworld will have 4 KOTHs, North, East, South and West. The end and the nether world both have 1 KOTH inside the warzone as well. To view the schedule of this KOTH you can type /koths. These koths will start at a specified server time and will give great rewards to you and your faction.
Outposts
The outposts are 24/7 battlefields, in total, there will be 2 different outpost types, one in the Darkzone, and one in the Underworld.
These outposts give their own unique buffs, so make sure to keep an eye out for them with your Faction.
Simply capture an outpost by standing on it with your faction members, the more members, the faster the claiming process goes.

Question and Answers
Why did Factions reset?
Factions is already up for some time. A reset has to happen to change and improve with new features, to make the game more exciting for you all! This then allows players to have a fresh start and new players can begin to play without any significant disadvantage.
This means all items, money, and the map will be reset. Nothing will be kept leftover from the previous map. I know this must be a disappointing revelation for a lot of you, but think about the exciting new changes, the new alliances you can forge, the new map, the new features and updates the different kinds of gameplay, and the style provided with this update will surely make it a worth-while and exciting reset!
Below you can find what you will lose and what you will keep.
What will I keep?

- Purchased Perks
- Won out crates ranks
What will I lose?
- Your claims
- All items in your inventory and ender chest
