Suggestion:
Prevent Trap Effect Stacking

Detailed description:
  • Add a 10–15 second cooldown between Show Me Your Hands and Escape Room effects on the same player.
  • After a player is affected by one of these traps, the other trap should not apply its effect until the cooldown has ended.
  • The cooldown should apply regardless of which trap is triggered first.
  • The traps themselves should remain usable; only their effects on the same player should be subject to the cooldown.

Reason(s):
  • Currently, Show Me Your Hands and Escape Room can be triggered together, applying Blindness, Slowness, and Mining Fatigue to the same player in quick succession.
  • Combining these effects can make breaking a bed extremely difficult or effectively impossible.
  • It can completely destroy the momentum of a successful bed push, especially when the player has already reached the bed.
  • A 10–15 second cooldown would still allow both traps to be useful without allowing them to be chained together for an extremely strong defensive combination.
  • This would make the interaction more balanced while keeping the individual traps unchanged.

Example(s):
  • A player triggers Show Me Your Hands and receives Blindness and Slowness. If they trigger Escape Room immediately afterwards, Mining Fatigue would not be applied.
  • Once 10–15 seconds have passed, another trap effect can affect the player normally.

-1 I don't think a cooldown is needed. Being able to combine traps is part of the strategy, and players can already play around them.

I disagree. Saying that players can “play around them” doesn't really address the problem with the combination itself.

When Show Me Your Hands and Escape Room are chained together, the player can be hit with Blindness, Slowness and Mining Fatigue almost simultaneously. At that point, there is barely any meaningful counterplay. You can't properly see nearby players, what they're holding, where they're moving, or even the void around you. With the Slowness applied as well, your ability to react or reposition is heavily reduced, meaning an opponent can easily knock you into the void while you're effectively unable to see the threat coming.

There is a difference between a strategy that gives the defending player an advantage and a combination that removes the attacking player's ability to respond. The individual traps can still be strategic and counterable on their own, but chaining both together removes too much counterplay at once.

The suggestion also isn't asking for traps to be removed or for them to stop working together entirely. A 10–15 second cooldown would simply prevent the same player from being hit by both effects back-to-back. The traps would still work normally against other players and could still be used again after the cooldown.

So this isn't about making traps “less strategic.” It's about preventing a combination that can completely shut down an already successful bed push with almost no opportunity for the affected player to react.
