Lifesteal - PikaNetwork 2022
August 13th 2022, 18:00 GMT / 14:00 EST / 13:00 CST / 11:00 PST
We at PikaNetwork are always looking to improve, expand and enhance the experience of our players. It has been a while since we released some new and exciting, so we are proud to announce we have a brand new gamemode in store for you. The long wait is finally over and we are ready to reveal the next gamemode that will be released.
PikaNetwork will be adding Lifesteal to our list of gamemodes!
Lifesteal is a survival gamemode with a twist. No claims and hearts can be taken away from you. Be careful with dying as this will result in a death ban!
Upon killing players you will be able to steal a heart of theirs, with a maximum of 30 hearts. Once a player dies with only 1 heart they will receive a death ban. This death ban can last up to 24 hours, so you really have to be careful with your next move. Without being able to make safe claims we think this makes Lifesteal an exciting gamemode where grinding will feel like a huge reward. Will you play solo or with a team? The choice is yours!
This gamemode can be played from version 1.16 up to the latest version 1.19.1. It's going to be an exciting journey with this new gamemode and we are excited to see what you think about it.
Make sure to read this full forum post to know exactly what our Lifesteal server will have in store for you!
Are you ready to hop into a new season?! Say no more. The brand new gamemode will be released this Saturday, August 13th, 2022

Get yourself an emperor rank or a 50EU store gift card with these giveaways.
What is Lifesteal?
Before we can get into the features it is important you are familiar with the concept of Lifesteal. Lifesteal is a new popular hardcore survival gamemode that we are excited to be launching on to PikaNetwork.
The Concept
Lifesteal is as mentioned a twist on survival and hardcore survival. Instead of having the regular hardcore hearts, you will have custom hearts that you lose when you get killed and gain when you get a kill. Once you run out of hearts and you die you will receive a temporary Death Ban. Don't let the word hardcore confuse you, you will still generate your hearts once you take damage!
No claims
Because of the grinding hardcore nature of the gamemode, there are no claims. You can not claim a base and it's up to you to defend it as a player or as a team. Raiding is allowed and is even recommended. We recommend the players make a hideout to make it hidden and not easy to be accessed. Chests are not private, and anyone can place and break blocks everywhere outside of the spawn area.
Limited shop
There is a limited /shop where you can buy a few items and sell resources in order to get money. The items you can buy are very limited and expensive to obtain, so you will need to grind a lot in order to utilize this /shop.
One world and one world only.
You heard that right, there is only 1 world. No resource world, no multiple worlds, just one big world filled with action. This world is a world with a size of 30,000 x 30,000. Enough place to make your secret hideout and to hunt down players and send them to their death ban!
To summarize this, it's a hardcore survival mode with no claims are your life is on the line. The exact ingredients needed for a new fun and exciting gamemode.
Changelog
The following are the most important features that will be released in our brand new Lifesteal gamemode.
Hearts! Fight for your life.
The most important thing you will need to know about Lifesteal is that you are literally fighting for your life.
As soon as you leave spawn the PvP is enabled everywhere, so be careful where you go and where you are planning to hide to get the grind started, people can hunt you down and steal your hearts as soon as they kill you!
At Lifesteal you spawn with 10 Hearts to start off with. This is the normal amount of hearts you are used to having in regular Minecraft. However, there is a twist as previously mentioned.
Upon dying you will LOSE a full heart.
Upon killing you will GAIN a full heart.
You can have a maximum of 30 Hearts in total, and your hearts can go down to 1 as the least possible amount.
Once you die with one heart you will be eliminated from Lifesteal, this means you will receive a DEATH BAN!
A Death Ban means you will not be able to play Lifesteal for the duration of your Death Ban, so dying is worse than you can imagine, play safe, sneak attack your opponents and fight for your life to survive.
Once your Death Ban is over you can hop in and start playing again with 10 Hearts.
Throughout the game, you will be able to find a special item, a Heart. This heart will give you a heart upon redeeming. This item is very valuable and will not be obtained with ease.
Teams! Play solo or in a team.
At our Lifesteal server, we are giving you the opportunity to team up with your friends.
Looking to team up to safety with some of your friends? Team up by using the /team command.
Within a team, there is plenty of features that you can use in order to enhance your experience at our Lifesteal server even more.
You can create a team by using the /team create <name> command, once your team is created you can invite your friends by running /team invite <player>.
They can either accept or reject this invite by typing /team accept <team> or /team reject <team>.
Feeling a bit lost with all the commands? There is a simple help page that you can visit at any time using /team help.
Besides simply teaming up with friends our Teams system brings you a lot of cool little perks and neat features that you can utilize.
Here is a list of team features that we offer at Lifesteal:
Team Bank
Looking to store some currencies shared with your team? Head into the /team bank and you will find the 3 currencies that your Team Bank can hold. These three currencies are Money, Experience, and Rubies.
Upon opening the Team Bank you will find 6 options, 3 are to withdraw each currency and the other 3 to deposit them.
Select the option you want to execute, another menu will open up, in this menu, you can select the amount for your deposit or withdrawal.
This is what the deposit menu looks like for experience.
In this menu, you will find the option to deposit or withdraw a set amount of experience, which are 100, 500, and 1,000. Or you can select to enter a different amount of choice by typing it in the chat. This works for every currency.
At the bottom to make it even easier for you we added the option to deposit or withdraw percentages from your or your team's balance, you can select 20%, 50%, and 100%.
Team Vault
Another great way to secure things within your Team. Upon creating your Team you will be given a Team Vault that can hold up to 9 items, so 9 item slots in total. This Vault can be upgraded by leveling up your team.
My Team has stored 3 diamonds and some boots (real Gucci!) in our Team Vault, as we leveled up a bit we now have up to 27 slots.
What will you store inside your Team Vault?
Team Management
As a Team Leader is it important that you can manage your team in the way you prefer. That's why your team will have a total of 5 roles that you can manage.
Those 5 roles are Recruit, Member, Officier, Co-Leader, and Leader.
The leader is you, and can only be you. Who gets what role is up to you!
You can invite a total of 6 others (7 in total) members to your team, which is upgradable to 12 team slots in total!
Manage your team permissions using /team perms.
Team Level
Leveling up your Team will be essential if you want to gain access to more team slots and a bigger team vault. You can level up your team with money, rubies, and experience. The higher your team level the more the level-up will cost.
While leveling up your team will gain access to more perks for you and the team. Those perks are the following:
Every 3 levels your team will gain a new Team Tag Color displayed in chat.
Every 5 levels your Team Vault will increase with 1 row.
At levels 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, and 13 you will gain an extra team slot.
Every level you will gain a booster to boost you and your team for a limited amount of time.
Teams Events! Become the #1 Team
As crucial as fighting is, we all know how nice it is to form friendships and overcome challenges as a team. Well, good news, you can! With the Team Events, you'll be grouped with your team and assigned a random task.
These vary greatly, and can range from mining ores to killing mobs, and so on. Your goal as a team is to execute these tasks to perfection. You'll be directly battling other teams to earn Team Points. Team Points are a currency earned by completing tas quickly, with the team finishing first gaining substantially more points than the team finishing in eighth, for example. Once the task has been randomly assigned every team will start their grinding. Every team has the same task so it's important you get going as fast as you can!
The more Team Points your Team has the higher your position at the /team top.
These Team Events take place every 3 hours of every day, so even if you miss one, you'll have plenty of chances for more glory!
Rubies! A valuable currency to upgrade your team
Rubies are an important currency to purchase team levels and special items in Lifesteal. These shiny rubies are so valuable that you can only obtain them from leveling up your /level. Once you have obtained these rubies they will be added to your account and can not be traded to another player. The only way to transfer these rubies is through the Team Bank.
Every level will give you a handful of rubies to work with, choose wisely where you are going to spend them because once you have completed all the levels there is no way of getting more rubies for this season of Lifesteal!
Will you choose to use these rubies for the greater good of your team, or are you choosing for yourself?
Level Up! Earn rewards while leveling
Another great feature that will be introduced to Lifesteal is the well-known Player Levels.
These Player Levels are tasks that you have to complete as a player in order to progress.
Open the Player Level menu using /level. Within this menu, you can find all the levels and tasks you have to do, you are only able to view tasks of your next level, so what's coming up is always a surprise. These levels are a great way to progress and earn some rewards for free to get even stronger, complete all the player levels, and become the #1 level player on our Lifesteal server.
Are you looking to earn even more rewards? And maybe even some fancy bracket colors as you progress? Then the Premium Level Pass is perfect for you! You can purchase this pass to gain more rewards per level and a cool level bracket as you level up. Level-up in style with this premium level pass.
Compete! Strive for victory on every leaderboard
For Lifesteal we are taking a different approach with statistics. We know how good it feels to be the best at something, so we are giving you the chance to be the best at EVERYTHING! Yes, everything!
At Lifesteal we will be implementing a bunch of leaderboards for your team and for you as a player on your own. All of these leaderboards are accessible through the /leaderboards menu at any time. The most important statistics will still have their own hologram at spawn showing the Top 15 players of that leaderboard.
But what is different? We have leaderboards already! Oh, you're right, I forgot to mention, that you will be able to see the top 15 players, but also your own position and top percentage to see how far away you are from becoming the top player and who is above you with what stat at that moment.
We will have leaderboards for you as a player for:
Most Crops Farmed (total and per crop)
Most Ores Mined (total and per ore)
Most Kills
Most Money
Highest Killstreak
And for your team you will be able to view the top teams for the following statistics on a daily, weekly and total time interval:
Most Crops Farmed
Most Ores Mined
Most Kills
Most Deaths
Highest Killstreak
Most money made
Team Points
Team Level
As you can see there are plenty of leaderboards where you can strive, which one will you dominate?
Farm! To earn some money
To get you started we based the economy around farming, including custom crops. You can harvest these crops at any time whenever you want in your secret little hideout. We recommend getting started by purchasing some custom crop seeds from the /shop.
Once your crops have grown it is time to harvest them. Harvest your crops and sell the loot in the /shop. These crops have a chance to drop one or more seeds which you can then use to expand your farm and replant your crops in order to get that crop business going.
There are 8 different crops that you can plant, each one has its own price to buy and sell, those 8 crops are:
Mangos | Oranges |
Peaches | Apples |
Pears | Pineapples |
Melons | Kiwis |
Sell items! Auction items to players on the Auction House
Trading with players is a huge risk in a hardcore gamemode like Lifesteal, so in order to make it possible to safely sell items to other players, we will also be adding our well-known and loved Auction House.
In this Auction House, you can put items up for sale, and anyone can purchase these items, even when you are offline. Looking to sell an item for a price the players are willing to give for it? List it as a bidding auction and players can start bidding on your auction as soon as it gets listed.
View the auction house using /ah.
Bounties! Put a bounty on your targets
Have you already made enemies? That was quick! This Bounty system is a great feature for all of you guys looking to get your worst enemies slaughtered by the bravest warriors at our Lifesteal server.
Put a bounty on someone's head and make it profitable to kill that person. You can choose any amount of money you want to put on that player as a bounty.
Let's say you want Gunfire to be killed, all you have to do is put a big bounty on his head and the bounty hunters on the server will start looking for him for money.
Once you have placed the bounty using /bounty Gunfire 1000 then the server will take away $1,000 from your balance and will give it to the player that manages to kill Gunfire first.
Enhance! Upgrade to one of the 6 donator ranks
At Lifesteal you are able to purchase one of the 6 donator ranks. These donator ranks are the following: Guard, Knight, Paladin, Royal, Emperor, and Divine.
You can purchase these ranks at store.pika-network.net or in-game using the /goldshop.
Because we are using the latest version of Minecraft these donator ranks look even better than you have ever seen before, can't wait to see. Here is a little sneak peek of the ranks in order from highest to lowest.
After the release, you can find all the perks these ranks give you in our store.
Queue! Limited server slots
At release, we will be opening up the server with 175 player slots. We will be monitoring the gamemode to see how it's going and how many players want to play at Lifesteal. These numbers can be changed at any given time.
Upon joining you will be put in a join queue, where donator ranks get priority, this queue can be filled up with as many players as possible, if the server is full you can reserve your spot by queueing to join the gamemode.
Question and Answers
Can everyone play Lifesteal?
Yes, after the release everyone will be able to join Lifesteal through the server selector, simply open it up using the compass in our lobbies, or by typing /server and click the Golden Apple to join Lifesteal!
All you need to do is in be version 1.16 or above, otherwise, you will not be able to play, as this gamemode is running on one of the latest Minecraft versions 1.18.
Why isn't Lifesteal 1.8?
We heard you the 1.8 players. But we decided to make this new gamemode utilize the latest features that Minecraft has to offer. 1.8 is now over a decade old, and we believe that moving on slowly but surely is the best choice. Gamemodes like these are perfect gamemodes to be played on one of the latest versions and we are happy to move on to a newer version for these new and exciting gamemodes. We will not be adding 1.8 support due to compatibility and performance issues. Thank you for your understanding.
We hope to see you on our new Lifesteal server soon!
If you have feedback or any suggestion, let us know we'd love to make this as good as we can.
Thanks
