Suggestion:
/togglerank, a new feature

Detailed description:
I personally have a Titian rank, and sometimes I want to just toggle off my rank (so that I don't get targeted or too much attention) but still keep my username. When I do this, my skin automatically changes to Alex/Steve, even though everything is the exact same, only the rank display is changed.

This suggestion is to separate rank display from /nick entirely, so players can change or hide their rank (like titan → vip/elite or toggle it off) while still using their real username, as well as their skin.

Right now, the only way to change rank display is through /nick, which is why it also affects skins. Instead, a separate command (like /togglerank) could be added that only changes the rank tag/color without involving nicking at all.

For example, sometimes a player might want to play with their rank toggled off or shown as a different color, but still keep their username and their own skin. Currently, the only way to keep both username and skin is by showing the original rank, there’s no way to change the rank appearance without it also changing the skin.

Yes, you can change the appearance of your rank through /nick while still having your original name, but since they'd still be using their original username, they would still be recognizable. So if their identity isn’t hidden anyway, there isn’t really a reason for the skin to be forced into an Alex/Steve.

Because of that, this idea is different from previous suggestions about /nick. Those focus on modifying nicking behavior (like keeping skins while changing usernames), while this introduces a completely separate system that only affects rank display.

In this case, everything else stays the same: username, skin, level, etc. Only the rank tag is adjusted.

In addition, I believe this /togglerank feature should also be applied to Vip and Elite, everyone deserves to enjoy their game without feeling worry that since they have a rank, the lobby will target them (which is much more common than it seems).

If there are any clarifications that need to be made or any questions you'd like to ask, do let me know.

Reason(s):
  • Separates rank display from /nick instead of forcing both systems to be tied together.
  • Changing rank appearance isn’t the same as hiding identity, so it shouldn’t require a skin change.
  • Gives players more control over how they appear.
  • Reduces unnecessary use of /nick when players only want to hide or change their rank.
  • Avoids forcing players into default alex/steve skins when they want to keep their username as is but only changing rank.
  • Keeps /nick fully intact for its original purpose (anti-targeting and anonymity) since we are not talking about changing /nick at all.
  • Allows more flexibility for different playstyles (some players want less attention without fully nicking).
  • Improves overall player experience with a small but practical feature.

Example(s):
An example of the command can be like:
/togglerank (off/vip/elite/titan).

  • A player uses /togglerank to avoid attention → their username, skin, level, all stay the same, only the rank changes.
  • A titan player switches their rank display to vip or elite → their name and skin stay the same, only the rank color/tag changes
  • A player wants to play normally without standing out in lobbies → they hide their rank but keep their identity (username + skin)
  • A vip or elite player toggles their rank off → they blend in more in-game without needing to fully nick or lose their skin
  • A titan player switches between titan/vip/elite for preference → only the rank appearance changes, everything else remains exactly the same.
  • As Vip or Elite, you can either use /togglerank to display your rank as or toggle it off. As Titan, you have the option to switch between titan, vip, elite, or toggling it off completely as well as having the option to use the /nick command when you want to change your username, level, etc. This still gives the Titan rank it's worth and value, even if vip and elite players have the option to display their rank or toggle it off.
P.S. I’d like to emphasize again that this command is completely separate from /nick. It’s a new feature focused only on rank display, giving players more autonomy and flexibility over how they appear in-game, while still keeping both their username and skin.
