SHARING IPS

Detailed description:
Major Issue: Fake Server IP Scams & Account Hacking

One serious issue I’ve noticed is players (hackers/scammers) sharing fake server IPs in chat or private messages to trick others. This is becoming a major security problem.

How it happens:

  • A player sends a message like “join this server for free rewards/ranks”
  • The IP looks similar to Pika Network or seems trustworthy
  • When players join or interact (sometimes via Discord links), they are asked to log in or download something
  • This leads to their Minecraft account details being stolen
Impact on players:

  • Players lose access to their accounts
  • Their accounts are then used for spamming, hacking, or further scams
  • It creates a chain effect where more players get affected
  • New or younger players are especially vulnerable
Why this is dangerous:

  • Pika is a cracked server, so accounts are easier to compromise
  • Many players are unaware of phishing or fake IP tricks
  • Hackers take advantage of trust within the community
Suggestions to prevent this:

  1. Block/Filter Suspicious IPs in Chat
    • Automatically censor or block messages containing server IPs or suspicious links
  2. Warning System
    • Show a warning message when players see or try to copy unknown IPs
    • Example: “Do not join unknown servers — risk of account theft”
  3. Strict Punishments
    • Instantly mute/ban players advertising fake IPs or scams
  4. Player Awareness
    • Regular announcements about scams and how to stay safe
    • Tips like: never share passwords, don’t trust random links
  5. Secure Login System
    • Encourage or enforce strong passwords
    • Add optional 2FA (if possible)
  6. Report System Improvement
    • Add a quick way to report scam messages directly
Final Note:
This issue is very important because it affects player safety, not just gameplay. Fixing this will build more trust in the server and protect the community.

Reason(s):
Many hackers trick players by sharing fake Minecraft server IPs that look real or attractive (like “free ranks,” “OP kits,” or “cracked premium rewards”). These are designed to lure players into joining or interacting with them.

🔍 How This Leads to Account Hacking

  1. Phishing Websites
    • Fake servers often redirect players to login websites that look like official Minecraft or server pages.
    • Players are asked to “verify” their account or “link” it.
    • When you enter your username and password, hackers steal your login details.
  2. Fake Giveaways & Rewards
    • Hackers promise free items, ranks, or coins.
    • To claim rewards, players must log in on a fake page → credentials get stolen.
  3. Malicious Mods / Files
    • Some fake servers ask you to download mods, texture packs, or launchers.
    • These files can contain keyloggers or malware that record your keystrokes (including passwords).
  4. Cracked Server Exploits
    • On cracked (offline-mode) servers, usernames are not protected.
    • Hackers can join using your username if you don’t have strong in-game password protection.
  5. Social Engineering
    • Hackers pretend to be admins or trusted players.
    • They convince users to share account info or click unsafe links.

🚨 Common Signs of Fake Server IPs

  • Promises that sound too good to be true (free ranks, OP loot instantly)
  • Links that don’t match official server domains
  • Requests to log in outside the game
  • Unknown Discord links or suspicious shortened URLs

🛡️ How to Stay Safe

  • Never enter your password on untrusted websites
  • Only join servers from official sources
  • Avoid downloading random mods/files from unknown links
  • Use a strong, unique password
  • Enable 2-factor authentication (2FA) if available
  • Don’t trust random players sharing links or IPs in chat

Example(s):
Here are some realistic examples of how hackers use fake server IPs to steal accounts. You can use these in your post or announcement:

⚠️ Example 1: Fake “Free Rank” Server

“Join pika-free-rank.net for FREE Netherite Rank!! Limited time!!”

  • Player joins → gets a message:
    “Verify your account at: pika-claim-rank.xyz”
  • Website looks like a real server store
  • Player enters login details → account gets stolen

⚠️ Example 2: Fake Giveaway Link

“OMG I just won a giveaway 😱 join op-pika-rewards.fun and claim yours!!”

  • Site asks you to:
    • Enter username + password
    • Or link your Minecraft account
  • Result: Hacker gets full access to your account

⚠️ Example 3: Fake Admin Message

“Hello, I am Admin. Your account is flagged. Join pika-support-help.live to avoid ban.”

  • Looks serious → player panics
  • Site asks for login “verification”
  • Account gets compromised instantly

⚠️ Example 4: Malicious Mod Download

“This server needs a special PvP mod, download here: pika-mod-pack.download”

  • File contains:
    • Keylogger (records passwords)
    • Malware
  • Even if you don’t log in anywhere → hacker still gets your data

⚠️ Example 5: Cracked Server Trick

“Join best-cracked-pika.sytes.net for OP kits!”

  • Player joins without password protection
  • Hacker logs in using same username later
  • Steals inventory, coins, or entire account progress

⚠️ Example 6: Discord Scam

“Join our Discord for events 🎉 discord.gg/pika-free-items”

  • Fake Discord server
  • Bot sends:
  • Same phishing method → account stolen

First off all this is not a pika only thing minecraft account being hacked or phising or minecraft account happens everywhere in minecraft in every server and second you cant get hacked just for joining a server only way you can get your minecraft account hacked is if you download any mod or anything from non-trusted sources and only way you can get your pika account compromised is if you intentionally give them your password

What you said here is already against the rules in some or the other way.
We also have a thread about account security HERE.

Also, you said that players should be instantly muted/banned, but issuing any auto-mutes/bans for chat offenses is just unfeasible.
However, you can report such players HERE instead and then wait for it to be handled.
Moreover, advertising/forbidden links already has a 30/90 day ban on first offense, which I think is good enough.

As mentioned by GodYuvi too, this is not a problem just over here, it is common in every server.
So, overall, this suggestion makes no sense.
