Suggestion:
Reputation System

Detailed description:
A reputation system that allows players to express gratitude (say thanks) to other players who have helped them in any way regarding the server, forum or game. A number of bots are able to perform this action and this would certainly help rule in helpful users among the community who could, for example, have better chances at becoming a staff. The reputation system works by saying 'thanks' (or anything similar) to another user at the end of a conversation where one person has helped the other.

Reason(s):
Implementing a reputation system would incentivize users to contribute positively to the community, by rewarding helpful behavior such as assisting others in resolving issues regarding the forum, server or game. This would foster a sense of responsibility among members, encouraging them to take part in helping the newer community members. This would also make the server more self-sustaining, by reducing the workload on staff and minimizing the impact of their absence. With users actively interested in helping, the overall quality and experience for everyone would improve, even when staff are unavailable.

Example(s):
There's countless bots in the app directory that can help with this. A lot of big communities use this system to let their users take part in contributing to the betterment of the community.

Absolutely no. Anyone giving actual thought on it can understand how bad and baseless this idea is. You basically just asking people to end conversion with a "thank you" or something like what? There are already chat logs for ing u can find every single messages in discord and forums easily by search features which will easily tell pika how suitable r u for staff. These features also give them a more flexible option as they could search beyond then just to trust a baseless system that could easily be abused. Another fun fact, this is copied from a movie which literally LITERALLY shows how bad this system is

Hello whotfisreza,

Thank you for your interest in creating a suggestion to improve the server. We are always doing our best to make the server a better place for everyone.
However, we have eventually decided to deny your suggestion due to the following reason(s):
  • The point of helping people is to solve their problems or provide them with the information they need. If people do this purely for the sake of acquiring arbitrary numbers/reputation, they will 'act helpful' with no intention of actually assisting people.
  • Users who are helpful long-term are already considered to have a good reputation by the community (unless they did something else that makes them seen in a negative light).
  • We have a unique set of criteria (found HERE) which we use to assess whether we believe someone is fit to be staff. Being helpful is already a plus in that regard; we don't need 'reputation stats' for that.
For your reference, here is a link to our suggestion guidelines → PikaNetwork Suggestion Guidelines.
Please make sure to read and understand them before suggesting again.

We also advise you to use our Thread Search Feature to look for (similar) already made suggestions and upvote them instead.
Have fun playing on PikaNetwork!
