Suggestion:
Projectile Distance in Kill Messages

Detailed description:
I am suggesting an update to the kill messages within the PracticePvP subserver. Currently, when a player eliminates an opponent using a projectile (specifically Bows or Fireballs), the chat message is generic and does not account for the skill involved in the shot.

The suggestion is to implement a distance tracker (measured in blocks) that automatically calculates the gap between the attacker and the victim at the moment of impact. This distance should then be appended to the end of the existing kill message.

I want to clarify that this feature should be applied across all PracticePvP gamemodes, not just specific ones like Bridge or Fireball Fight. If a projectile (Arrow or Fireball) deals the final blow in any gamemode, may that be BuildUHC, Bridge Duels, FireballFight or even Archer, the new feature should be exercised.

Reason(s):
  • Skill Recognition: Landing a Fireball or an Arrow from a great distance requires more precision than a close-range shot. Adding the distance allows players to showcase their aim and skill.
  • Improved Feedback: It provides immediate data to the player about their positioning, helping them understand their effective combat range.
  • Enhanced Gameplay Experience: These "small details" make the PvP experience feel more polished and competitive, similar to what is seen on other major practice networks.
  • Non-Intrusive: This change is purely cosmetic and text-based; it does not affect game balance, knockback, or server performance.

Note: This shouldn't be specific to any rank or should not be available by buying as a cosmetic using PracticePvP coins or even crates. It should be a generic kill message.

Example(s):
For Bows:

  • Current: "Player123 has been shot by You"
  • Proposed: "Player123 has been shot by You from 42 blocks"
For Fireballs:

  • Current: "Player123 has been killed by You"
  • Proposed: "Player123 has been killed by You from 25 blocks"

To be honest, there's no specific need of "polished" pvp. Also this feature will not anyhow make it competitive. I'm upvoting because a kill message idea is good but not this specifically.

The point is the distance, what you're suggesting is a new type of kill message which is totally something else. The projectile distance being available in general kill messages is for showing off and showing your capabilites.

But kill message is not showing publicly to everyone so adding a kill message not making any sense.it will only shown to players who are playing in that game.

It Can Be A Trickshot

I don't think there are even enough fights that end from a really long projectile shot that would warrant this being added.

@Zapril To be honest, many fights in games like Archer, BuildUHC and FireballFight do end in a projectile shot. For example in FireballFight anyone can easily kill their opponent (4hp) using just a fireball shot. Not to mention in BuildUHC, players mostly run for healing when they are low and just like that, many games end in bow shots. Archer is just pure projectile aim. Soo, I think it could be a cool addition.. You should upvote it as it is not resource-intensive and is just a nice add that could encourage players :)
