Suggestion:
New passive vouchers

Detailed description:
Currently, SkyMines has a PvP passive voucher that grants 20 minutes of PvP protection and regenerates every 2 hours. While this is useful for normal grinding, it does not fully address the challenge for players who want to participate in large-scale server events like End Boss fights or King of the Hill (KoTH) events.

At the moment, the main issue is that new players or low-ranked players often get targeted and killed instantly by more experienced PvPers while trying to engage in these events. This creates a situation where only high-rank or heavily geared players dominate event participation, leaving the majority of the player base — especially newer or casual players — unable to fully enjoy these important aspects of the game.

💡 Proposal:
Introduce two special Event Passive vouchers that grant 30 minutes of PvP protection, specifically designed for End Boss fights and KoTH events:

  • Event Passive (End Boss): Provides 30 minutes of PvP protection while fighting the End Boss, ensuring that players can focus on the fight rather than constantly worrying about PvP attacks.
  • Event Passive (KoTH): Provides 30 minutes of PvP protection while participating in KoTH, allowing fair participation regardless of player rank or experience.

These event passives would work alongside the normal passive system but be specifically tied to server events so they do not affect normal PvP areas or general gameplay balance.

Balance & Anti-Abuse Measures

  • Cooldown: Event passives regenerate only every 3–5 days, so they cannot be used repeatedly in quick succession.
  • Soulbound Passes: Passes are non-tradable and linked to the player account, ensuring proper usage and fairness.
  • Fair Access for New Players: Both new and veteran players have access to the passives, guaranteeing that no one is unfairly excluded from events.
  • Temporary Loot Lock: Items gained during the pass duration are temporarily soulbound to prevent farming abuse.

Benefits

  1. Inclusivity: New and low-ranked players can safely participate in End Boss and KoTH events.
  2. Fairness: Experienced players cannot abuse the system to dominate events unfairly.
  3. Community Engagement: More players will join events, increasing server activity and interaction.
  4. Strategic Gameplay: The limited duration and cooldown ensure the passives are used strategically, keeping events balanced and challenging.
  5. Improved Player Experience: By reducing frustration and ensuring fair participation, players will enjoy events more, leading to better retention and community satisfaction.

Reason(s):
The main reason for this suggestion is fairness and accessibility. Server events are meant to be fun, competitive, and rewarding for all players, but currently, newer players are at a significant disadvantage. Without proper protection, low-ranked players are often eliminated instantly before they even have a chance to participate, which discourages them from trying and reduces overall server engagement.

By providing temporary PvP protection specifically for events, all players — regardless of rank, experience, or gear — can enjoy participation. This ensures that the events are more inclusive, increases community interaction, and allows new players to experience exciting fights and potentially earn rewards.

At the same time, the passives must not be overpowered or easily abused. Experienced players could try to exploit these event passives by creating multiple alt accounts and transferring high-level gear to them. To prevent this, the system will include the Event-Restricted Loot mechanic:

  • Event-Restricted Loot / Temporary Soulbound Items: Any items gained while the Event Passive is active will be temporarily soulbound for 24–48 hours, preventing immediate transfer to another account.
  • This prevents high-rank players from using an alt to farm event loot while still allowing fair use by all participants.

Hey @Supargamer002,
Your suggestion is very detailed and well thought out 👍. I can see you really care about making SkyMines more fun and fair for everyone. Just to share a bit of info: last season the passive voucher was only 15 minutes, but this season the team actually buffed it to 20 minutes, which is already a nice improvement.

About adding special event passives for End Boss and KoTH — I get the point you’re raising, but the issue is that those events are mainly designed for PvP. If players can use a voucher to completely block PvP during KoTH or while getting boss drops, then the whole purpose of PvP in these events gets lost. Imagine everyone walking in with vouchers — there’d be no fights at KoTH, and grinding for gear would feel useless since anyone could just cap without competition.

Bosses and KoTH are meant to bring that rush of PvP, teamwork, and strategy. Of course, it can feel tough for newer players at first, but part of the fun is improving step by step until you’re able to hold your own in those events. That’s the mindset the game encourages.

Still, I really respect that you’re thinking about fairness for all players 👏. Maybe instead of full PvP protection, some other balancing mechanics could be looked at in the future to give newer players a bit more breathing room without removing the competitive side.

Thanks again for putting effort into this suggestion 🙌

I agree with you, passive is still hard even after decreasing the cooldown of activating it, you can't still play normal because the pvp area is all around the world and you can't reach a good level/tools/gear without being attacked.
but changing the boss fightings, those areas are for grinded players already if you go there you are supposedly passed the overworld and nether which is you are at level 30, and you can still get bosses loot if no one attacks you and alot of players (icluding me) even with pvp enabled and item drop enabled I managed to get elytra with no armor.
I'm gonna say +1 for increasing the passive mode and passive mode voucher timers, but for the other things regarding bosses and outposts, I'm neutral

I see just the problem that if someone is capping koth and is in passive, there is no competition. Neutral
