ONE LIFE - GameMode
I’d love to suggest a fresh hardcore survival-inspired gamemode that pushes skill, consistency, and strategy to the limits. The name is simple yet powerful:
One Life is a hardcore SMP server where if you die for one time you will be kicked from the gamemode and you can't join it back until season resets, (Unlike Lifesteal or similar modes, there’s no way back once you die.)
One Life Concept :
What makes One Life unique isn’t just the hardcore ban-on-death system, it’s the constant, server-wide challenges that keep every survivor active and engaged.
Starting around Day 10, the difficulty ramps up:
Payouts & Points System
Throughout a season, players accumulate points via multiple sources. At season end, top point-earners receive rewards

Weekly Challenges (Survival Requirement)
- Every week, players must complete at least one main challenge.
- Failure to complete = you’re considered inactive → eliminated (banned for the season).
- This ensures no one can just “AFK survive” — it’s all about active play.
Examples:
Farm and collect 1,000 wheat.
Defeat 50 hostile mobs.
Mine 250 ores of any type.
Brew 5 unique potions.
Daily Challenges (Optional Boosts)
- Each day, random challenges appear for all active players.
- Completing these can give buffs, rewards, or leaderboard points — but missing them won’t eliminate you.
- They keep the gameplay fresh and prevent staleness.
Examples:
Catch 10 fish.
Smelt 64 iron ingots.
Hit 20 arrows on target dummies.
Forced Challenges (High Stakes)
Starting around Day 10, the difficulty ramps up:
- Players are given forced challenges with two options.
- You MUST choose one path — success keeps you alive, failure punishes you.
Examples:
Craft 10 diamond blocks OR
Permanently lose half a heart.
Defeat a mini-boss OR
Start next week with Weakness II.
Season Structure
- Seasons should be long enough for progression but short enough to reset hype.
- Recommended: 6–8 weeks per season.
- Between seasons, the server resets with new challenge rotations & potential balance changes.

Throughout a season, players accumulate points via multiple sources. At season end, top point-earners receive rewards
Source | Details / Examples | Points Awarded |
---|---|---|
Max Hearts (Health Upgrades) | If you reach the maximum number of hearts for that season (via upgrades, rare finds, etc.) | Varies (bonus) |
Weekly Challenges | Must complete main weekly challenge to remain active | 100 pts |
Forced Challenges | The “choose one” high-stakes challenge during mid/late season | 25 pts |
Daily Challenges | Optional challenges; helps boost your point total | 10 pts |
Boss Kills | Killing high-tier bosses gives big rewards | e.g. Wither Boss = 500 pts |
Custom Boss Summoning | Boss eggs: some special challenges grant a “boss-egg” item (like skymines bosses) | The egg is bound to the player who earned it (non-transferable). Only that player can use it to spawn the boss. If they successfully kill it, they get the “boss kill” pts above. |
Reason(s):
There’s no main reason really I’ve just been thinking about this style of gamemode, and when I searched the web I couldn’t find anything exactly similar. Other Hardcore servers don’t really challenge you to log in or keep your legacy, so it doesn’t matter if you survive, you can just go offline for the whole season. so I said why not suggesting this to you guys
