Make All Ranks Earnable In-Game
Detailed description:
I think it would be a good idea to remove all ranks that are bought with real money from PikaNetwork. Instead, players should be able to earn both seasonal and permanent ranks using in-game currencies like mobcoins, souls, exp, or in-game cash. This would make the server more fair and grind-based, and less about who can spend money.
- Fairness and Balance: Right now, ranked players often get perks like queue priority, kits, and commands, while non-ranked players are left behind. If ranks were earnable through grinding, it would make the server feel more balanced and welcoming for everyone, especially newer players who can’t spend money.
- More Purpose to Grinding: Letting players use their in-game progress to unlock ranks gives more meaning to grinding. Mobcoins, souls, and exp often pile up with no major use, so adding a rank shop using these would keep players motivated and give everyone a goal to work toward.
- Non-P2W Reputation: Removing real-money ranks would move Pika away from the pay-to-win label. The server can still make money through cosmetics, crate keys, or seasonal battle passes, but the core gameplay would stay fair for everyone. It also helps the server stand out in a good way.
Reason(s):
Not everyone has the ability to spend real money on Minecraft servers. Many players, especially younger ones, enjoy grinding and being active but feel left out when paid ranks offer major advantages. When a server allows players to unlock ranks through in-game effort, it builds a healthier and more committed player base. People feel proud when they earn something, and they’re more likely to stick around and invite others to join. It also builds trust, because players know that the server cares more about fairness than profits. Shifting to in-game rank progression would help build a stronger, more united community.
Example(s):
When ranks are pay-to-win, a new player joins and sees ranked players with special kits, commands, or queue skipping. It creates a gap between players who pay and those who don’t. This can feel discouraging, especially in competitive gamemodes like Practice, BedWars, or Skyblock. The new player might quit early, thinking they can’t keep up.
But when ranks are free to grind, everyone starts the same. A new player who puts in time farming mobs, earning coins, and gaining exp can work toward the same perks a donor has—just by playing. They’ll feel motivated to keep going. It creates a sense of achievement and keeps the server’s economy and player count active over time.
