locking of threads

you guys know...when u need help from people like admins or some advices and u decide to post on forums...
but instead of helping,some people just have to ask to close/lock ur thread.How does this help? if u cant provide an answer then dont even reply to it.

Erm, The staff locks finished/Solved/Useless etc. threads and we help them by requesting them to lock the thread.
