Iron prot 1 pants or diamond pants?

I always am stumped with this question when playing. Wondering which is the better option? I recently found out that i should be using sharp 2 instead of fire aspect 1, so still learning alot lol.

Un-enchanted diamond armour is better than iron prot 2. So i would go for diamond pants.

Use it like keep fire aspect on slot nxt to sharp, and first hit the enemy with fire aspect then use sharp 2

You can use sharp 2 after hitting with fire aspect 1, Fire tick damage + sharp 2 = OP.

It's around a 4 hit difference to kill someone with full unenchanted dia than full prot 2 iron
(no crits btw)
