Suggestion:
Improve Chest Deposit Controls

Detailed description:

(Ai generated but it explains all)

The recent chest update added two different functions to chest interaction:

  • Left Click → Deposit all resources (Iron, Gold, Emeralds, and Diamonds).
  • Right Click → Deposit only the item in the currently selected slot.
While the idea behind this update is useful, the current implementation creates several gameplay issues and makes chest interactions less convenient than before.

The Problem

Before this update, right-click only had one purpose when looking at a chest:

  • Open the chest.
Because there was only one action assigned to right-click, players could interact with chests naturally without worrying about accidentally triggering another feature.

Now, right-click has two different purposes:

  1. Opening the chest.
  2. Depositing the item currently held in the selected slot.
This creates conflicts and accidental deposits during gameplay.

Why This Is Inconvenient

1. Accidental Deposits

In BedWars, players constantly return to their base carrying blocks, golden apples, ender pearls, fireballs, tools, and other important items.

When trying to quickly access the chest, a player may accidentally right-click while holding an item and instantly deposit it.

This becomes frustrating because the player never intended to store the item—they only wanted to open the chest.

2. Fast-Paced Gameplay

BedWars is a fast game mode where players make quick movements and decisions.

When defending a bed, rushing another team, or escaping from enemies, players often interact with chests rapidly.

A feature that can accidentally move items during these moments can negatively affect gameplay.

3. Right Click Now Has Multiple Functions

Previously:

  • Right Click = Open Chest
Simple and intuitive.

Currently:

  • Right Click = Open Chest
  • Right Click = Deposit Selected Item
Having multiple actions tied to the same input makes the system less predictable and increases the chance of mistakes.

4. Important Items Can Be Stored Accidentally

Examples:

  • Holding wool blocks while preparing for a rush.
  • Holding an ender pearl before a clutch play.
  • Holding a golden apple before a fight.
  • Holding a fireball for defense.
A mistaken right-click can place the item into the chest, forcing the player to reopen the chest and retrieve it, wasting valuable time.

Suggested Solution

Change the single-item deposit action from:

Right Click

to

Shift + Right Click

Benefits

  • Prevents accidental deposits.
  • Keeps normal chest interactions unchanged.
  • Maintains the usefulness of the single-item deposit feature.
  • Makes player intentions clearer.
  • Better suited for fast-paced BedWars gameplay.

Example

Current System:

  1. Player is holding 64 wool.
  2. Player wants to open the chest.
  3. Right-click accidentally deposits the wool.
  4. Player must reopen the chest and take the wool back.
Suggested System:

  1. Player is holding 64 wool.
  2. Player right-clicks the chest.
  3. Chest opens normally.
  4. If the player actually wants to deposit the wool, they intentionally use Shift + Right Click.
This removes accidental mistakes while preserving the feature.

Conclusion

The new deposit feature is useful, but assigning it directly to right-click makes chest interactions less convenient than before because right-click now serves multiple purposes. Changing the single-item deposit action to Shift + Right Click would keep the feature available while preventing accidental item deposits and improving the overall BedWars experience.

+1. After finally getting around to playing some games, it's genuinely horrible. It keeps depositing items when you don't want it to, and overall it just wastes time. You constantly have to retrieve your items, which takes away time you could be spending defending, attacking, or actually playing the game.
