If someone reported a bug that hasn't been fixed, can I also report it?

Title says it all, but I'll explain.
Let's say there's a bug that is well known. Someone has reported it but, I can't really know that since the "bug reports" section is private. What happens if I report it too? Will the staff just mark both as they're fixed whenever they solve it or will they close the bug report since someone already reported it?

It would be similar like player reports , let's say you report a player that actually got punished while you reported them. The report would get accepted but they will say that the player already got punished.
