Dynamic Shop Prices

Detailed description:
I think it would be interesting to make the prices in /shop and /sell change depending on what players are selling. Instead of having the same prices all season, the economy could react to what is happening on the server.

(1) Changing Sell Prices

If players sell too much of the same item, its sell price would slowly decrease. If that item is rarely sold, its price could increase again.

(2) Daily Market Changes

The server could have a few items with increased prices every day. For example, if emeralds have a higher price today, players could focus on farming emeralds instead of always grinding the same spawners.

(3) Market Information

Add a /market command showing which items have increased or decreased in price, their current sell prices and when the next market update happens.

(4) Price Limits

Prices should have minimum and maximum limits so players cannot completely break the economy by selling too many items or manipulating the market with alts.

(5) Different Prices Each Season

The market could change throughout the season depending on player activity, giving players different ways to make money instead of relying on only one method.

Reason(s):
I think this would make OP Factions more interesting because players would have to adapt to the economy instead of doing the exact same grind every day. It could also make less popular items useful again and give players more choices when deciding how to earn money.

The system should be balanced carefully so that it doesn't make the economy unfair for newer players.

Example(s):
For example, imagine this on PikaNetwork OP Factions:

  • Monday: Emeralds sell for $1,000 each.
  • Tuesday: Lots of players sell emeralds, so the price drops to $700 each.
  • Wednesday: Not many players sell diamonds, so their price increases from $800 to $1,200 each.
  • Thursday: The daily market bonus makes iron sell for 2x its normal price for 24 hours.
Players would check /market to see which items are worth farming that day.

The point: Instead of everyone grinding the same thing for money, players would switch between different resources depending on the prices.
