can't access survival

I just joined the server last night and went through the early frustrations of building 1.5km away from spawn, and now I can't join the server from the lobby. It says I'm not white-listed on the server when I click the golden shovel icon. It also says no other people are on the server. Is the server down? Am I banned for not claiming a space within a certain time period?

The server is down for a few hours. If you look at the twitter feed on the homepage you will see it on the right handside

Sorry, but can't people first take a look at the problem on their own and THEN ask? Might be wrong, but thats just my opinion...

sorry you feel the need to be adversarial. I did look and I didn't see it before I posted. I just joined, so could you lay off?
