You do not need to know everything about everyone. Some people might feel uncomfortable about others knowing their information, and some might use such information to be negative towards others (for example, insult someone because of their statistics).

Maybe if there was some way to publically display stats. Like a player could turn it on.

The leaderboards do that in some minigames as you can figure out ratios from maths
