spears should be added to the upgrade path like axes
make them enchantable so players can use lunge for movement and escape in boss areas
giving them special ability too​

useful in pvp and movement purposes
players can upgrade there spears through ./upgrader to get stronger spears​

I do not think Spears were added intentionally and making them more powerful with an elytra existing is not what players want I suppose, especially when regarding the ground level height of the Overworld outpost - players could easily fly in with their spear.
