I feel like it's an interesting trade system considering people would have to hunt to find the containers and could only take something out by say placing an item in no blocks like dirt...

I like anything that envolves fun, treasure hunts are a great idea, I don't really know how it could be implemented though. I am struggling a bit to understand how it works. So there are hidden chests around the world or just the spawn area? That people can put stuff in and take stuff out. So the good items are going to be taken first. I don't think it would work tbh but it is something that could be worked on or turned in to a kind of event, finding hidden chests and receiving rewards. Anyway it's a good suggestion to make survival even more fun. I remember back in the day when there used to be lots of drop parties and special events, which they need to bring back!
