Suggestion:
sponges

Detailed description:
this suggestion couldnt be more self explanatory but if you dont know the topic im so sorry for your family.
it really doesnt make sense to have water without sponges, people can just spam water everywhere so a bed cannot be broken, or to make it impossible for other players to move.

Reason(s):
explained above

sponges are indeed a good counter for water but i don't think if it should be added as a permanent item, rather as a rotational item.

id be neutral or this

A single sponge cannot clear a large amount of water quickly which is just basic knowledge so you would have to buy a large no of sponges for your plan to work which will not be possible cause of the opposing players so it will just be better to place blocks or break at that rate. Though I am neutral this is the drawback of this suggestion.

To be honest, I don't agree with your point. Having sponges as blocks means able to buy atleast 4x blocks at once and the thing about sponges are you don't have to place it at the block which has water, you can place the sponge near the block having water source and it will remove the water which is a great defense against water both strategically and tactically.

sponges can stop water, but they do not block future placement. If a attacker uses a sponge, but the defender simply pours water again, the sponge's impact is temporary and potentially wasteful.

I'll stay neutral on this one, it's basically like a similar suggestion about adding invis pots. I think sponges won't make it good, especially in terms of pika bedwars.
