Reviving GenPvP

Detailed description:
GenPvP is fading away slowly. As an experienced minecraft player I know what the problem is. I have played enough Minecraft to know what players like, what they dislike, and what can be more annoying than any other situation.

I suggest to add the following 2 features (especially the 2nd one) into the gamemode. I fully believe, these features can make the gamemode a lot more attractive to 95% of Minecraft players out there.

Souls and /transfer shop

Souls as a currency:
  • For every kill, a player receives 1 Soul
  • Items can be sold in the auctionhouse for Souls
  • Souls can be withdrawed using /withdrawsouls

How to spend souls:

(Like in OneBlock)
A /transfer shop menu, resetting every 6 or 12 hours containing 9 of the following items.

Common items: (Stock: 32)
  • Spectral arrows (8x) - 8 souls
  • Jump Boost potion - 2 souls
  • Speed potion - 4 souls
  • Stone Bricks (64x) - 2 souls
  • Reinforced Deepslate (64x) - 6 souls
  • Wooden Turret - 6 souls

Unique items: (Stock: 16)
  • Jump Boost 2 potion - 4 souls
  • Speed 2 potion - 8 souls
  • Firework Rocket (64x) - 8 souls
  • Iron Spear - 24 souls
  • Lime Concrete (64x) - 4 souls
  • Purple Concrete (64x) - 10 souls

Rare items: (Stock: 8)
  • Golden Apple (16x) - 8 souls
  • Diamond Spear - 36 souls
  • Wind Charge (16x) - 16 souls

Legendary items: (Stock: 4)
  • Netherite Spear - 92 souls
  • Pets Gkit container - 64 souls
  • Archer Gkit container - 64 souls
  • Base Gkit container - 64 souls

Enabling gamerule keepInventory (Only main world!)

Set /gamerule keepInventory true in the main, random generation world.

In a world where Maces and Spears exist, losing a valuable inventory within the blink of an eye, even with extremely good armor is not rare.
The stuff players lose is often the result of hours of grinding, fighting and shopping. When you lose all of that within just one tick, you may want to quit the gamemode. Tons of players have made this decision before.

No wonder the 4 month old gamemode is already at times where not a single ranked player is online.
Right now, with 1200 players in total, the tab list looks like this:

The /transfer menu in OneBlock is the most exciting feature in my opinion. It keeps me logging in every day and feels rewarding. Adding something similar may be a very good decision.

Many players use keepInventory in their private world/server to ensure chill gameplay. As mentioned, Spears and Maces exist!! Losing the work of the whole season just leads to a soft and sweet "Bye bye!". That is common sense...


Carefully read this:
Elytra-Macing players will be as funny as before, and even better! The hunter does not have to worry about anything but durability. And the innocent player at the ground does not have to constatly feel pressure. The outpost world will still be dangerous. keepInventory will still be toggled off there!
