Rebalance spear PvP in Survival
Detailed description:
Hello staff team,
I would like to suggest a balance improvement for the spear mechanics in the Survival gamemode. Currently, the Lunge III enchantment allows players to repeatedly use the lunge ability with very little limitation.
Because of this, many fights in Survival PvP do not turn into proper combat encounters. Instead, players often spam the lunge ability to escape whenever they start losing a fight. This results in players constantly running away instead of engaging in PvP.
The main issue is that Lunge III can be used repeatedly without a cooldown, allowing players to gain a lot of distance very quickly. When someone keeps using the ability multiple times in a row, it becomes very difficult for the opponent to catch them.
This makes fights longer and sometimes frustrating because players can simply avoid combat by repeatedly lunging away. Instead of skill such as timing, positioning, and aim deciding the outcome of a fight, players can rely on mobility to escape.
To improve the PvP experience in Survival while still keeping the unique spear mechanics, I would like to suggest a few possible adjustments:
• Add a cooldown of around 3–5 seconds to the lunge ability
• Slightly reduce the distance of the lunge movement
• Change the enchantment from Lunge III to Lunge II
• Prevent players from using lunge for a short time after taking damage
These changes would keep the mobility aspect of spears but would stop players from spamming the ability to escape fights. This would encourage more balanced and skill based PvP in Survival.
