1.What was your first experience on the Pika community or Pika Network?
Ans: My first experience on Pika was pretty chill. I met a few friend groups along the way, made friendly competitions, played against other players, and even formed some friendly rivalries, all while being part of a wholesome community. I first joined the server back in 2019, when COVID hit the world hard. Pika became my safe space, along with other games, of course.
2. What motivated you to get involved with staff on Pika?
Ans: Back then, there wasn’t really an influx of staff, especially when I first joined while MrFrenco was still the Manager of Pika. I joined the staff team because I wanted to provide a sense of direction. Compared to the past, we didn’t really have set guidelines like we do now. My goal was to contribute and be useful by providing information and support to the team, as well as contributing to the community, even in small ways, like guiding players. And of course, making great friends within the team was a bonus for me.
3. How has your role on Pika evolved since you first joined?
Ans: I think my role evolved alongside how players and the community changed over time. We’re all human, constantly adapting and evolving. As Pika has grown into what it is today, we as staff have grown too, always striving to improve and be good role models within the community.
4. What was the biggest challenge you faced as a new staff member?
Ans: My biggest challenge was the fear of making mistakes. Back then, and even now, we are very strict about a lot of things. As staff, you’re expected to accurately carry out your duties based on the workload given. When I first started, I always triple-checked everything because I was afraid of messing up. Over time, I overcame that fear, and now I can confidently say I handle most tasks accurately, though I’m still only human at the end of the day c:....
5. What moment made you realize you wanted to stay long-term on Pika Network?
Ans: I’d say it was the friends I made along the way, the memories, the ups and downs, and seeing my peers grow alongside me.
6. Why had you resigned two times? Was it a personal issue or something else?
Ans: I can’t really go into detail about the first resignation but if you know, you know, and I’d appreciate keeping that private. That said, it’s in the past, and I’m different from who I was back then. It wasn’t anything too serious. Aside from that, I was starting college, and COVID lockdowns were slowly being lifted. I didn’t have much time to stay online consistently.
The second resignation was due to work. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, things didn’t go as planned, which eventually led me back here.
7.How do you balance fun gameplay with maintaining order on a large server like Pika?
Ans: Knowing your responsibilities and having a clear, pre-set list of what you need to do helps a lot. This allows me to moderate effectively while still enjoying time with my friends and the community.
8.How do you handle situations when no senior staff are online during peak hours?
Ans: A lot of what we do on Pika comes down to common sense. In the past, we didn’t have guidelines for everything and relied mostly on experience. Now, everything is systemized, which means that even if no senior staff or management are online, I’m still able to act appropriately and keep things running smoothly without becoming a hindrance.
9.Who would you say has been your closest friend on Pika Network, and why?
Ans: I’d say my closest friend right now is Notax6uuu. We haven’t known each other for very long, but he’s been my buddy since then. We’ve had many conversations, both on a staff and personal level. He understands what I’ve been through, and we exchange thoughts on different situations. That said, I’ve had many close friends on Pika over the years. Some are now just memories, but I cherish everyone I’ve met along the way as amazing friends.
10.Do you think strong friendships among staff improve or complicate moderation?
Ans: Teamwork is what keeps this team strong, so I believe strong friendships improve morale. That said, there’s always a clear line between friendships and duties, and we can’t let bias affect our responsibilities.
11.Lastly, are you planning to stay long-term this time around?
Ans: Only time will tell, but I don’t see myself resigning anytime soon..
