Suggestion:
Interactive Tutorial System

Detailed description:
The Interactive Tutorial Island is designed to guide new players through the essential mechanics and features of PikaNetwork in an immersive and engaging way. Upon joining the server for the first time, players will spawn on a floating tutorial island. This island features a well-organized path with holograms and signs that explain key commands, server game modes, and essential gameplay tips. As players walk along the path, they encounter different sections, each designed to teach a specific aspect of the server.

The first section introduces players to basic commands related to the tutorial system. Here, holograms or signs will explain commands like /tutorial, which allows players to replay the tutorial at any time, and /skipTutorial, which gives players the option to skip the tutorial entirely if they prefer to jump directly into the main server experience.

As players continue along the path, they will come to a section that introduces the server’s various game modes. This part provides a brief description of each game mode, including Skyblock, Factions, and Bedwars. Players will learn how to engage with these modes, with clickable NPCs or signs offering more information about each mode’s rules and objectives.

Next, the tutorial moves on to explain the economy system within the server. Here, players will be shown how to use in-game currency, access shops, and utilize commands like /tutorialShop, which will open a dedicated tutorial shop where players can learn how to purchase essential items specific to their tutorial journey.

The following section educates players on how to vote for the server and earn rewards. Players will learn that typing /voteTutorial provides them with voting links and rewards tied specifically to tutorial progress, encouraging them to participate in voting while guiding them through the process.

Another important area of the tutorial covers the server rules and how to interact responsibly within the community. Here, players will be reminded to respect chat rules, engage in fair play, and report any rule-breaking behavior. They will also learn that they can use the command /tutorialRules to review the server’s rules at any time during or after the tutorial.

As players approach the end of the tutorial, they will be presented with a final jump. In this section, players must leap into a void portal, which teleports them directly to the main lobby of the server. Upon arrival, a pop-up message will appear that thanks them for completing the tutorial and provides them with the option to replay it by typing /tutorial.

This tutorial system is designed to be optional and non-intrusive. Players who wish to skip the tutorial can do so using the /skipTutorial command, and those who need a refresher or want to replay the tutorial can do so at any time by typing the /tutorial command.

Commands:

/tutorial – Starts or replays the tutorial.

/skipTutorial – Skips the tutorial and teleports the player to the main lobby.

/tutorialShop – Opens the tutorial-specific shop for essential items.

/voteTutorial – Provides links to vote for the server and earn tutorial-related rewards.

/tutorialRules – Displays the server’s rules for reference du
ring or after the tutorial.

Reason(s):
1. Improved Onboarding Experience: A dedicated tutorial island provides a smooth and engaging introduction to new players. It ensures that they understand key commands, server features, and gameplay mechanics right from the start. By guiding them through the basics in an interactive environment, players will feel more confident in their ability to navigate the server and participate in different game modes.

2. Increased Player Retention: A clear and engaging tutorial system can reduce confusion and frustration for new players, encouraging them to stick around longer. When players have a better understanding of how things work from the beginning, they are less likely to feel lost or overwhelmed, which could otherwise lead to them leaving the server prematurely.

3. Optional & Non-Intrusive: The tutorial is optional and can be skipped at any time using the /skipTutorial command, which means players who are already familiar with the server or prefer to jump straight into gameplay aren’t forced to follow the tutorial. At the same time, those who need extra help can replay the tutorial with the /tutorial command whenever they wish.

4. Customizable Learning Path: The tutorial provides a customizable and step-by-step learning experience. As players walk through the path, they can encounter various sections, each focusing on important aspects of the server such as game modes, commands, economy, and rules. This allows players to learn at their own pace while engaging with different parts of the server.

5. Guided Discovery of Server Features: The tutorial introduces features like voting (/voteTutorial), the in-game economy (/tutorialShop), and server rules (/tutorialRules). This ensures that new players are familiar with the server’s mechanics and know how to engage with the community in a constructive and positive way. It also promotes the server’s voting system early on, which can contribute to increased player engagement.

6. Encouraging Server Participation: The tutorial not only explains commands and mechanics but also encourages participation in various server activities like voting and shopping. It promotes a sense of community by providing players with information on how they can contribute to the server’s growth and success, enhancing their overall experience.

7. Seamless Transition to the Main Lobby: The final step of the tutorial, where players jump into the void and are teleported to the main lobby, creates a sense of completion and smooth transition. This method of exit makes the process feel natural, while also offering players the chance to replay the tutorial at any time if they feel the need.

8. Enhancing Server Reputation: A well-crafted and thorough tutorial system demonstrates that the server cares about its new players. It helps in building a positive reputation, as newcomers will appreciate the effort put into making their first experience enjoyable and educational. This can encourage more players to return, invite friends, and recommend
the server to others.

Example(s):
1. Hypixel:

Hypixel uses an interactive tutorial system in their Skyblock game mode. When new players join, they are guided through a series of NPCs and prompts that explain the basics of the game mode, including mechanics like farming, combat, and the economy. Players can follow a quest-like series of tasks to help them understand the game, and it’s entirely optional for those who wish to skip it. The tutorial is designed to familiarize players with the server's unique features and to prevent confusion when they start playing. They also provide further NPC interactions in-game to continue teaching mechanics and provide additional guidance as players progress.

2. Mineplex:

Mineplex features a “How to Play” section in their lobby, where new players can explore signs and holograms that give them detailed explanations of how to get started with the server. It includes basic commands, game modes, and how to interact with others in the community. This tutorial is accessible at any time and helps players quickly understand the server’s layout and what they can expect while playing. It is not a full-on, guided tutorial, but provides key information to ease players into the experience.

3. Cubecraft:

Cubecraft offers a “How to Play” tutorial system, especially for new players joining their Skyblock game mode. Players are introduced to the server with a short series of tutorial messages and holograms that walk them through key features, including commands like /island for managing their personal Skyblock island, /shop for purchasing items, and other core mechanics. Players can also interact with NPCs that guide them to additional content and learning resources. Cubecraft ensures that new players are well-equipped with the knowledge they need to get started.

4. TheArchon:

TheArchon uses a tutorial hub where players are introduced to the server’s mechanics and game modes. The tutorial includes interactive NPCs and holograms that explain basic commands and provide hints on how to get started in various game modes. It’s designed to ensure players are comfortable before diving into full-scale gameplay, and it helps build familiarity with the server’s features and in-game economy. Players can skip or return to the tutorial at any time.

These servers share a common goal: providing new players with a clear, accessible introduction to their mechanics, game modes, and features. The proposed Interactive Tutorial Island would serve a similar function on PikaNetwork, offering new players an engaging and helpful introduction that enhances their experience and re
duces the learning curve.

Hello,
+1, its an upvote for me due to the fact it would help new players understand pika easily in their first launch. More players wouldnt just stick to one gamemode and try out others because of the tutorials. Tutorials of how iron and gold work at the start would help many players as well.
Also you put a lot of effort in your suggestion, impressive.
Goodluck.
