GenPvP Guide

Everything you need to know about mechanics, progression, combat, teams, economy, and commands.

📌 What Is GenPvP?

GenPvP is a competitive PvP gamemode on PikaNetwork where players fight for dominance in a map that resets every Friday. Teams build bases, place generators to earn money, defend with protection blocks and turrets, and raid other teams to steal their resources. The gamemode emphasizes strategy, coordination, and economic growth rather than simple dueling.

Every week brings a fresh world with new terrain and a chance for teams to climb the rankings and every season (typically around 6 weeks) tracks total performance for bigger rewards and prestige.

🌍 World & Structures

Weekly World Reset

  • The GenPvP world is a fixed 45×45 chunk map that resets weekly.
  • World resets clear all existing bases, generators, protections, and player progress in that world.
  • This system encourages fast escalation and keeps gameplay fresh and competitive.

Cubes (Territory)

  • GenPvP uses cube territory blocks instead of land claims.
  • A cube is a 16×16×16 area where you can place:
    • Generators
    • Protection blocks
    • Turrets
    • Shielded defenses
  • Only cubes can be defended or raided; outside cubes, normal PvP still works but no structures function there.

💰 Economy & Generators

Generators

Generators produce money passively once placed inside a cube.

  • There are 24 tiers of generators, from basic Cobblestone to Dragon Egg.
  • Higher-tier generators produce more money per second but cost more.
  • Each cube can hold up to 8 generators, so placement strategy is key.
  • Losing your generators to a raid directly cuts your income and slowly cripples your team’s ability to compete.

Money = Power

Generated money is the backbone of everything in GenPvP:

  • Buy better defenses
  • Purchase explosive raid tools
  • Upgrade weapons and gear
  • Activate shields
  • Maintain PvP strength
Managing and protecting your economy is often the most important factor in long-term success.

🧱 Defense – Protection Blocks & Turrets

Protection Blocks

Protection blocks are the primary defensive tool for your cube:

  • They have different strength tiers with increasing durability.
  • Higher tiers take more hits and are harder to break.
  • Teammates can instantly break these blocks for ease of movement.
  • Enemies must mine through them using tools or explosives.
Layering protection blocks forces raiders to use more resources and time to penetrate your defenses.

Turrets

Turrets add automated defense:

  • They automatically attack intruders in range.
  • Higher tier turrets deal more damage and have higher health.
  • Use turrets to guard high-value areas like generator rooms.

💣 Raiding & Combat

Explosives

Raiding is a core mechanic and explosives are often essential:

  • TNT — basic explosive tool
  • C4 — precision demolition
  • RPGs — directional blast tool
  • Nukes — high-impact and expensive
Different tools serve different purposes depending on the defense layer and layout.

Pickaxes & Armor

  • Pickaxes determine your ability to break protection blocks.
  • Higher tier pickaxes break blocks faster and can break stronger block tiers.
  • Full armor and weapons help in defending and PvP engagements during raids.

Modern PvP Mechanics

GenPvP punishes spam clicking and promotes strategic PvP:

  • Weapon cooldowns matter
  • Positioning and timing matter
  • Axe vs sword timing affects fight outcomes
This makes combat skill and awareness crucial as fights often happen during raids or territory defense.

👥 Teams & Seasons

Teams

  • Teams can have up to 4 players.
  • Teammates share:
    • Generators
    • Base defenses
    • Shield protection
  • Team coordination amplifies economic strength and defensive capability.
Solo players can still play, but teams generally dominate due to shared resources and strategy.

Seasonal Progression

  • Each weekly reset contributes to trophies based on performance metrics (kills, raids, objectives).
  • Trophies accumulate over a ~6 week season.
  • At season end, top teams receive larger rewards and recognition.
  • Seasons help determine the strongest teams on the server.

🛡️ Shields & Cube Cores

Shields

Shields are purchased with money and provide time-limited protection against raids:

  • They protect your generators and blocks
  • Shields do not prevent PvP outside of protected cubes
  • Activate them strategically (e.g., when offline or rebuilding)

Cube Cores

Cube cores act as the heart of your base:

  • They anchor cube ownership
  • Raiding a base often requires breaking its cores first
  • Well-protected cores make your cube much harder to take

🌍 Outposts & Map Events

Across the GenPvP map, you will find natural generators that drop money. These can be collected for extra profit, but they are high-risk zones. Other players will actively hunt you while you’re collecting.

🏰 Outposts

The Outpost World contains four outposts:

  • Outpost 1
  • Outpost 2
  • Outpost 3
  • Outpost 4
Standing on an outpost platform grants powerful buffs:
  • Deal +4% more damage
  • Take −4% less damage
  • Generators drop 2× more money (stackable with totems)
  • Receive 1 Enchanted Golden Apple every 5 minutes

Outposts are highly contested and often become PvP hotspots.

🧱 Protection Blocks

Protection Blocks are your main line of defense in GenPvP.

They are used to:

  • Protect your respawn beacon
  • Protect your generators
  • Delay or stop raids
Protection blocks:
  • Can be purchased from the shop
  • Have different strength tiers
  • Require a certain number of hits to break

For the block owner and their teammates, protection blocks can always be broken instantly.
Raiders must use pickaxes or bombs to destroy them.
