Forum Auto-Join Message​

Detailed description:

I’d like to suggest adding a welcome message for new players joining the PikaNetwork forums for the first time. Upon creation of a forums account, the forums would automatically send a private welcome message to their inbox. This message would include a warm greeting, helpful links, along with just general guidance for navigating the community. An example message I made will be in the examples section.​

Reason(s):

Having this feature can help new forums members feel more welcomed and guided. This will also help reduce some of the common questions such as people joining the forums and asking "Where do I appeal?", "Where do I report", etc. I also have a hope that this might encourage participation from new forums users. I think it will be particularly helpful for those players that have joined the forums for one specific purpose, e.g to make a ban appeal, hacker report etc.​

+1, this is pretty straightforward and useful. With how most of the players are on the forum purely to seek official help, such a welcome message would definitely help a lot.

I’ve considered suggesting something such as a 2FA or some other form of an added step of verification for the forums. However the main problem I was finding with an idea like that is that as EA said:

With how most of the players are on the forum purely to seek official help

Requiring a player to go through a multi-step verification process would just be too much work for the average player who just wants to make a ban appeal, report a player, make a support ticket, etc.

I don’t think the issue of bots/spammers on the forums is even a big issue. I’ve encountered a couple and that was it.

Plus there’s already email verification.
