When you hit over 20 CPS, the server often interprets those rapid block placement packets as an auto-clicker or a fast-place modification. To prevent unfair advantages, it cancels the placements, which results in those "ghost blocks" you are experiencing. For telly bridging, try focusing more on your timing and crosshair placement rather than raw clicking speed, and try to keep your bursts under that 20 CPS threshold so the server registers every block.
