Hey PikaNetwork,
I’ve been part of this community for a long time, and like many others, I remember when factions were more than just gear and money — they were about skill, teamwork, and strategy. Today, I want to address something that’s been bothering many of us: the current state of OP Factions.
This is a call to the community and staff to seriously consider bringing back a Hardcore OG Factions realm — where PvP was fast-paced, fair, and skill-based. Where fights didn’t take an hour. Where it didn’t take real-world money to kill someone.
Let’s break it down.
We’re not saying delete OP Factions. Keep it for those who enjoy it.
But give the rest of us an alternative. A separate realm dedicated to OG-style Hardcore Factions, built on the following foundation:
There’s a myth that servers need OP gear and pay-to-win mechanics to make money. That’s false. Here's how a Hardcore realm can still generate serious revenue:
You’ve done an amazing job keeping Pika alive all these years, and the community is still here. But many of us — veterans, skilled PvPers, and OG fans — are waiting for something that brings back the real spirit of factions.
You don’t need OP mechanics to stay profitable.
You don’t need pay-to-win kits to succeed.
You just need a factions realm that respects the roots of the game — and the players who built this community in the first place.
Bring back Hardcore OG Factions. Bring back the fun. Bring back the skill-based PvP that made this mode legendary.
Community: If you agree, reply, react, and +1 this post. Let your voice be heard.
Hardcore factions wasn’t just a game mode. It was a culture. Let’s bring it back.

The Problem with Current OP Factions:
- 1v1s take 30 minutes to over an hour – Because everyone is stacked with absurdly high-level armor, and with no gapple cooldowns, fights drag on with no end unless someone makes a mistake or simply logs out.
- Gapple Spam – Golden apples can be eaten infinitely, removing any actual risk. There’s no cooldown, no timing, no strategy — just endless regen.
- Pay-to-Win Meta – The only fast way to get kills is through buying overpowered custom items or enchants. It’s less about skill and more about how much money you’ve spent.
- No Skill Reward – You can strafe, combo, and pot perfectly — but none of it matters when the other player just eats another gapple and tanks for an hour.
What Made OG Factions Great:
- Protection IV was the max, and fights were fast-paced.
- Potion PvP meta meant you had to know how to hotkey, time your hits, and manage your inventory.
- Gapple cooldowns made golden apples valuable — not spammed.
- Risk mattered – if you went out and fought, there was always something to lose and everything to gain.
- Fights lasted 1-5 minutes, not 45 minutes.
- Skill determined outcomes, not money or gear grinding.
The Solution: A Hardcore Factions Realm
We’re not saying delete OP Factions. Keep it for those who enjoy it.But give the rest of us an alternative. A separate realm dedicated to OG-style Hardcore Factions, built on the following foundation:
- Protection IV max gear – No Protection 20 nonsense.
- No custom enchantments
- Gapple cooldowns or rare god apples only
- Potion-based PvP
- Balanced eco focused on grinding, not buying
- No kits with instant max gear
Yes — Hardcore Factions Can Still Be Profitable
There’s a myth that servers need OP gear and pay-to-win mechanics to make money. That’s false. Here's how a Hardcore realm can still generate serious revenue:- Cosmetics, tags, particles, and ranks – People love to stand out. These don’t affect PvP and still sell.
- Battle Passes – Weekly or seasonal passes with cosmetic or grindable content keep people engaged.
- Crate Keys (done right) – Keep them cosmetic or offer small rewards — no game-breaking items.
- Seasonal Leaderboards and Faction Tournaments – Reward the top factions with prizes (even cosmetic or Discord roles), and create hype for each reset.
- Quality-of-life perks in ranks – Extra homes, shorter cooldowns, /fix access — useful, but not unfair.
