Adding Pearl Use Cooldown
Detailed description:
Hello,
I’m a player known as Fatal1te on Pika Network, and I’d like to suggest an important and much-needed feature for SkyPvP — a Pearl Cooldown.
You might be wondering why such a change is necessary, but the reason is quite simple: to prevent players from glitching through the ground to avoid falling into the void.
I’m not referring to the minor fall glitches that happen when a pearl lands on a slab or stair — I mean players literally spamming ender pearls as fast as possible to phase through the ground. This not only disrupts the PvP experience but also gives an unfair advantage to those abusing the mechanic.
Adding a short cooldown between pearl throws would greatly improve gameplay fairness and overall server balance.

Reason(s):
Reasons Why a Pearl Cooldown Should Be Added to SkyPvP
- Prevents Glitch Abuse
- Players currently exploit ender pearls to glitch through blocks or the ground, especially near the void.
- This allows them to escape death unfairly, ruining the competitive balance of fights.
- Improves Fairness in PvP
- A cooldown ensures that everyone plays on equal terms — no one can spam pearls to survive when they should’ve been eliminated.
- It rewards skill, timing, and proper pearl usage instead of spam-based luck.
- Reduces Lag and Server Stress
- Constant pearl spam creates unnecessary entity updates and teleport calculations, which can increase lag for nearby players and even cause server strain.
- A cooldown limits spam and helps maintain smoother gameplay performance.
- Prevents Accidental Self-Glitching
- Sometimes, even legit players can get stuck inside blocks due to rapid pearl throws.
- A cooldown minimizes this frustration by making pearl usage more controlled and predictable.
- Balances Aggressive and Defensive Playstyles
- Without a cooldown, players can endlessly teleport around the map, making fights drag on unnecessarily.
- A cooldown adds strategy — players must think carefully about when to pearl in or out of combat.
- Enhances the Overall Player Experience
- It makes fights cleaner, fairer, and less reliant on bug abuse.
- New and casual players won’t feel discouraged by opponents exploiting pearls to avoid defeat.
- Players with weaker gear often rely on the void as their main way to defeat stronger, heavily armored opponents.
- However, when overgeared players can instantly pearl back up after being knocked off, it removes that only chance of victory.
- A cooldown gives undergeared players a fairer fighting opportunity while keeping the game more balanced and exciting.
