Suggestion:
Add a /nick or /nicknames command
Detailed description:
I would like to suggest adding the /nick or /nicknames feature across the network, as it’s something that has been part of many large servers and makes gameplay a lot more fun and personal. The idea is simple — players can set a temporary or custom nickname using a command like /nick <name> which changes their visible name in chat, tab list, and above their character, while still keeping their real username in the backend. This allows players to express creativity, use themed names, or simply play under a different name for fun. It can also be made toggleable or per-gamemode, so competitive modes like Practice or GenPvP can choose to disable it if needed.
The feature could also come with optional settings like /unnick to reset the name, or even /nick <name> -p to make it persistent across sessions for ranks that have permission. For example, a player could use /nick ShadowFox and it would display that name everywhere instead of their normal one, until they remove it. Adding a system like this gives players a sense of personalization and community, similar to how skins or ranks do, but without affecting gameplay balance.
To prevent any kind of abuse, the system can include automatic filters that block inappropriate or impersonating nicknames (like using names similar to staff or known players). There can also be limits like only allowing letters, numbers, and basic symbols, and players could only change their nickname every few minutes to prevent spam. For extra safety, all nickname changes can be logged so staff can review or reset them if needed. This keeps the feature both fun and safe for everyone.

Reason(s):
The main reason this feature should be added is because it’s small to implement yet adds a huge amount of enjoyment for players. Many players love being able to have creative or funny nicknames, and it’s a feature that encourages social interaction. It also fits perfectly with the new rule system, as screenshots now show both real and display names, so rule enforcement wouldn’t be a problem. On top of that, it gives players a way to feel unique without breaking any game balance.
Overall, adding /nick is a minimal but high-impact addition that would make the server feel more modern, fun, and social — something that players across multiple gamemodes would really enjoy having.
