    Yes you can indeed abuse them and gain unfair advantage over other players. Either way if you believe you have been punished falsely you may appeal.

    Travelling merchant selling stacked totems was a bug. The day they showed up i explained multiple times to everyone that they count as illegal items and you should unstack them or you will be punished.
