the plot is very, very bland, anakin gets basically no character development besides losing a limb and now openly hating sand and the assassination attempt on padme is so stupid a 5 year old couldve done a better job (sidious orders dooku to kill padme, who orders jango to do so, who orders a doppler to do so, who sends in a droid to do so, who sends in worms to do so; then the worms are caught and both obi wan and anakin chase the droid, leaving padme alone and the doppler doesnt kill him, once ani and obi wan reach the doppler Jango decides to shoot the doppler and not anakin, obi wan or padme)
the only things carrying this movie are dooku's duel with yoda and an attractive natalie portman
I got your points, however, George Lucas has produced everything with exact detail, lets dive deeper here.
While I agree that Anakin's character development could have been more nuanced, there are some redeeming qualities in "Attack of the Clones".
First off, the political intrigue adds depth to Star Wars. The intricate web of manipulation, with Sidious pulling the strings from the shadows, showcases the complexity of the Galactic Republic's downfall. Sure, the assassination attempt on Padme might seem like a buzz cut, but it's a reflection of the widespread corruption and deception at play.
And yeah, Anakin's hatred for sand might be a bit of a meme, but it's also a small glimpse into his personality. The prequels are setting the stage for his eventual fall to the dark side, and these seemingly trivial details contribute to his overall character arc.
