Still havent finished it. I got Shura ending in my first playthrough and didnt really wanna go on ng+ so i started a completely new run. Im going for purification ending so ill finally face him

I got the return ending in this playthrough, just some tips to make the sword saint a lil easier: don't hesitate to attack, if you let him breathe for even 2 seconds he'll destroy you. As soon as he deflects your attacks, let go of the r1 button and start deflecting until you see an opening or he sheathes his blade, if he thrusts, mikiri counter him and punish with an Ichimonji or a double Ichimonji.

it might have been easier because you did shura first so you kind of had some experience with Isshin
